Caroline Wilson questioned the Tigers fitness and mentality.
“They’re not running out games,” she said.
“We saw it in the elimination final last year. We saw it in the previous game against Carlton last year.
“It just keeps happening. I don’t know whether it’s a lack of fitness or they’re just not willing to work hard enough.

In our case Hardwick, Ross Smith, Peter Burge, etc ... So our coaching and fitness staff were from Hawthorn. Hutchy questioned the logic of copying a trend that was two years old when you really need to be two years ahead of the trend to become successful.
I can't remember who said it, but someone in the media mentioned that the two main moves we had planned over the preseason was moving Newman forward and Dusty back. However, halfway through round 1 it was gone. So all that Richmond had planned and worked on over the summer was chucked out the window.
