:banghead. Not one of them questioned dimmas game plan or the footy department unreal  going backwards and sideways unlike last year quick and direct.
In recent weeks they have been going quick but indirect, avg 18 bounces a game last month, that's a significant change from the stop start stuff earlier on, with Hampson and griff as key forwards they couldn't get a kick in a stampede what hope have we got. My mail is the top 4 draft picks are loaded with kpp talent, brace yourselves and let fj get to work :shh
I'm hoping it's Luke Williams that actually does the work this year... :pray :pray :pray :pray
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Richmond was the major focus to begin the show.

Craig Hutchison said the contrast between the two halves was “stark” and North Melbourne’s leaders stood up when the game was on the line.

“Ziebell, Petrie, Harvey, Swallow got their hands dirty when the game was there to be won,” he said.

Melbourne great Garry Lyon said the decision to substitute Majak Daw at half-time was the catalyst.

“When Majak was subbed out ... it simplified it for everyone,” he said.

“It left Drew Petrie one out and Troy Chaplin panicked. He panicked, he grabbed jumpers, he gave away free kicks.”

Matthew Lloyd agreed: “They lost the plot.”

Caroline Wilson questioned the Tigers fitness and mentality.

“They’re not running out games,” she said.

“We saw it in the elimination final last year. We saw it in the previous game against Carlton last year.

“It just keeps happening. I don’t know whether it’s a lack of fitness or they’re just not willing to work hard enough.

They also spoke about how the two most disappointing sides this year - us and the Bulldogs - both unashamedly had admitted they had been following the methods of Hawthorn and Geelong respectively including having a number of staff from those clubs. In our case Hardwick, Ross Smith, Peter Burge, etc ... So our coaching and fitness staff were from Hawthorn. Hutchy questioned the logic of copying a trend that was two years old when you really need to be two years ahead of the trend to become successful.

I can't remember who said it, but someone in the media mentioned that the two main moves we had planned over the preseason was moving Newman forward and Dusty back. However, halfway through round 1 it was gone. So all that Richmond had planned and worked on over the summer was chucked out the window.

Caro joked that Richmond should contest Vickerys charge so that he would get an extra week.

Funniest thing I have heard for a while.

Sounds like someone here is writing Caro's jokes.

The thing that struck me was - if you look at the Geelong & Hawthorn gameplans and look at Footscray's & Richmond's (alleged) strengths & weaknesses - if anything, we should be copying Geelong & they should be copying Hawthorn. (Though I'd prefer we came up with our own ideas obviously.)

Lloyd said at the start of the show he's going to have a good look at Cotchin tonight and show where Trent could and should be doing more.

Listening to Scott talk about being honest with senior players about performances and where ey stand in relation to where the club needs to go ie chapman, and pods. Reason being bc they have faith their young guys will come in in the future even if they have to wear some short term pain. Would our coach do the same thing? Given that he's openly stated he doesn't rate our youngsters obviously not.

Why is it teams like hawks, cats pies will rebuilding the run giving young blokes a fair go but our coach talks about there not being much eft to bring in.

Lloyd said at the start of the show he's going to have a good look at Cotchin tonight and show where Trent could and should be doing more.

* Lloyd said he doens't like the way Richmond plays. They play a possession game which is alright if you're going forward but they constantly go backwards and sideways.

* In Lloyd's opinion, Cotchin is the worst culprit of this sideways/backwards footy. Too many short dinky kicks and looking for the 1-2s. Lloyd showed a few examples. The last one, Cotch had a chance to break the line and run 20m forward through the centre but he handballed sideways to Chaplin and then ran sideways across and in front of Chaplin expecting the ball back on the wing (Chaplin ignored him and just ran forward through the corridor).

* Cotchin had just 9 metres per disposal vs Sydney (his season avg is 16). Lloyd said Cotchin needs to be re-trained by Hardwick to get him out of this sideways/backwards footy.

* Caro said Richmond's confidence is shot. They don't take the game on.

* Lyon said he's in a different camp to the others. He believes Richmond went into the game with a specific plan to deny Sydney the footy.

Just for the record I never liked the way Lloyd played either
