Captain's game again leading from the front with 37 possies (22 contested), 7 clearances (3 centre), 3 tackles, 3 inside 50s, 1 goal and 2 assists  :bow.

Was taking on his and Dusty’s work load. Awesome performance!

I thought his game today owed a bit to having a rest last week.

A number of our key players looked pretty stuffed in the last qtr, but not Cotch.

From Robbo's 'likes' column:

2. TRENT COTCHIN
The most selfless, manic and team-first outfit in the AFL is led by Trent Cotchin. Bob Murphy reckons players like Cotchin are symbolic of their team and on Sunday, in a fierce contest, Cotchin was front of the pack for his team. He had 37 disposals, 22 contested and kicked a goal and seemingly was opposed to Ben Cunnington, who was inspirational himself. We talk of Nat Fyfe and Shannon Hurn as prospective All-Australian captains and Cotchin easily sits with those two.

You might talk of them as AA captain Robbo, I certainly don't. Fyfe will make AA, but he is too selfish to be captain, and Hurn will not make AA full-stop.

Respected veteran AFL football commentator Tim Lane has declared Richmond premiership captain and outstanding midfielder Trent Cotchin the competition’s best player.

“I’ve been thinking about this since that Collingwood game recently (Round 6), he is more capable than anyone in the game, I reckon, at withstanding the heat of a really intense contest now. I think he’s the best player in the game,” Lane said.

After 10 rounds of the 2018 season, Cotchin is averaging 25 disposals, 5.3 clearances, 4.6 inside-50s and 4.8 tackles per match.

But Cotchin’s value to the Richmond side goes way beyond his impressive statistical numbers.

He consistently sets the tone for the Tigers with his fearless attack on the ball, fierce determination to succeed, and excellent leadership qualities.

His value goes very unnoticed even by RFC supporters.

He certainly did, the tenacity of not only Cotchin but the whole team is brilliant.

How many goals were saved through shear desperation and will to stop them.

This all starts at the top and our Captain is amazing at setting the standard these days.

I love how he can sense the next player the opposition will give the ball to, he locks on and hits them like a cannon ball.
