Lets go outside the square here for a second.
If Judd wanted to come home and within reason money wasn't an object, would not he prefer the club he barracked for as a kid.

If we were smart we could get Melbourne and Judd together and if WCE play hardball to hard for the dees, Juddy could slip though to the PSD and we have a few more picks and a ready made player from them for our PSD pick.

Or we could reneg on the deal once he is though and take him for nothing  :rollin
CUB, how about Miller goes into the wrong room with 30 seconds to go to the trade deadline and Judd slips through to the PSD  :lol

Didn't Sheeds do that to a deal last season or the season before during trade week or something similar in that the time expired and the deal failed to materialise. :rollin :rollin

Miller did it Sheeds in 2004. Agreed to trade Zantuck to the Bombers swapping picks 33 and 36 and then went into the wrong room by "mistake"  :wallywink.

There's all this talk about Dick Pratt and his money which would guarantee Carlton gets Judd but how would that affect Carlton's salary cap?

Good point - in theory it shouldn't make any difference. All clubs have salary caps and have to fit him in that. It's irrelevant how much money you have in the rest of the club.

That said, Carlton are known serial cheats. They might be able to offer opportunities outside football and after football -

Spot on.  The Salary Cap are player payments.  Property/Marketing opportunities etc will all be thrown at Judd and they're placed outside the cap.

Pratt will throw everything at him.

I suppose we'll find out just exactly what sort of guy Judd is. He says money is not important, does he really want to play for the blues? Is he willing to sacrifice himself to ensure West Coast get something good?

The latest rumour doing the traps in Dogs give up pick 5 for Fevola and the Blues then ontrade pick 5 with pick 3 (plus maybe a player) to the Eagles for Judd.
