McMahon will look good in a good team. He was always going to be that type of player.

Because of his age, and abilty to run and kick he'll continue to get games, regardless if you like him or not.

When the like of Deledio, Tambling, Foley, Cotchin and our young talls get abit more size on them, and the team is playing better - hopfully 2009 onwards he will look good.

Fact is he is getting bagged and still got 30 touches, which is not that bad for an average game.

You can tell by the 2nd half vs. Carlton, Freo game etc. he has the abilty to be a decent player with some weapons that compliment the team. He was class in '06

Still doesnt explain how Cyril Rioli burnt him so many times.
Probably the same way he has burnt most opponents he as had so far this season.  He won the Rising Star nomination this week and McMahon won't be the last to lower his colours to him.  At least he provided some drive to us - it would have been a lot worse if he hadn't done some damage himself.

But Cyril was by himself, you're a defender for a reason.  If in two of his goals I saw McMahon right with him, yeah ok.  But as far as I was aware when I was watching he was not in sight.  Same goes with 2 of the 4 score assists I remember.
What you say is correct TA but to make a considered judgement you have to be privy to the instructions or role given McMahon by the coach.  He may have been told to try and make Rioli accountable by running off him to provide the drive that Clarkson mentioned he was very concerned about.  Comes off, champion and we win, doesn't, Rioli gets free, plays well and they win.  I'm not privy to it and I'm pretty confident you wouldn't be either, and I am not saying that this was the role he was given but I'm not going to hang him out to dry based on the results of Rioli's game until I know what is reality.

The coach benched him and gave him an earful on the phone, I don't think he was following instructions.  :-\

I think McMahon can be a handy players, before last week I had been on his side but his game last week was just so damaging against us.

How this skunk McMahon gets a game is beyond me, he is a joke and the fact we gave away pick 18 and are paying him big $$$ is a disgrace.

He adds nothing to our team, there are so many players that are on our list who could play that same role and be more effective.

Bad mistake Wallace.

Morton continues to impress. Go Morts.

Just about every week we are getting caned by a small forward, I was against the McMahon trade from the start, the fact we missed out on a young kid who could have been developed as a defender to play on small forwards makes it worse.

Bloody oath.

Didnt we get him for his "great disposal?"  :chuck   ::)

What defense?

Horrible game.  VFL beckons.

I'll welcome Bowden back with open arms after Jordy's performance.  :wallywink

Morton continues to show signs he'll be quite the player.  :thumbsup

I know McMahon wasnt on Milne but when he kicked his 6th. McMahon ran inside defensive 50 loose and could have smashed him head on in the contest if he WANTED to but he chose not too. Weak as pi$$, Scott Selwood would have been a far better decision.  :banghead :banghead

Redrafting Shane Morrison or Luke Weller would have been as beneficial as picking up Jordy. As all provide squat. Despite this in Jack passed the ball as soon as he went back Jordy was on 40 out straight in front.

That comment just shows you know little.
Schulz is an imbecile of a footballer, how on earth would you explain him taking his direct opponent into the path of Richo on 3 separate occassions in the last quarter, Can tell you Schulz has little idea of the modern game of football.
Good return from Sarge last night, 4 kicks, FANTASTIC EFFORT :banghead

As for McMahon :banghead :banghead  Coburg here he comes, he is a disgrace.

blaisee pull ur finger out champ schulz did nothing last night, absolutely nothing. r we watching the same game or what?

porn star mcmahon is letting this team down, along with newman and tuck. While tuck has defensive skills he lets the team down that causes too many resulting goals.
ditto for newman.
time back in coburg may teach them a lesson to think before they act. silly footballers at the minute but will get better.
