Best thing in the article was the remider that Rance is still only 22 years old.
the sad thing is after 5 yrs the falling over the poor judgement in the air the poor one on one contests remain a constant and have hardly improved one bit.
Claw did you ever answer my question a while back - If you could swap Alex Rance for any 21/22yo fullback from any other club who would that be?
nope didnt read it.
wont answer either as i think it irrelevant.
15 16 of the full backs in the league would be over 22. some may not have started as a fb but all have the right attributes unlike alex even as a youngsters to perform the role.he doesnt have the tools to be a good fb.
i dont think alex rance a good fb and i dont think he has much of an upside as a fb because he lacks the attributes to play there.
we have a player who has all the attributes to fb bar one and it is important.
dylan grimes is quick and agile, has good closing speed, reads the play real well, is as sound as they come in the air defensively and has good skills by foot.
he lacks size and strength and he may never be big enough to play one on one against the bigger forwards. he has far better attributes to play fb than rance but i would not be looking to play him there atm and certainly not left one on one until the size happens.
