I think you need to remember that in today's footy (i.e. heavy use of rotations) you have 7 backs not 6 (one on the bench). There is also quite often an extra man in defense. For these reasons you'll find all of Grimes, Chaplin, Rance and Griffiths playing down back.

Rance on the third tall. Grimes full back and Chaplin Centre Half Back. Rance best suited to the backline.

Rance will be in the back line where he has always been, not sure why this has even been raised. :huh

Maric plays two kicks behind the play so in reality its almost eight man.

Nothing wrong with a bit of discussion about positions in the off season

I don't rate Rance as much as others do.....and I see a lot of potential in the Chaplin/Griff key position set-up. Grimes due to his ability to play small/tall has the edge over Rance as well IMO.

CHB. Where he plays now, and plays damn well.
He's a much better/younger player than Chaplin. Put Rancey on the trade table and there would be plenty of interest, i reckon.

He's an arse CHB I reckon. My mate found it easy to lose him in traffic. Took 13 marks on him FFS ;D Play Rancer deep in the backline. Has great closing speed which is very handy when playing on the hitup forwards who play close to goal. Can't believe you have slagged Chappy, Slick. Disgraceful form mate
