I used to use this all the time (iphone). If you're into reading every bit of info to come out of the club, every player tweet etc then sure. I had it on my 3G but haven't bothered to get it on my 4S yet. I just use Footy Lite for fixture and general footy news and anything RFC tends to find its way on here.

But it's free, so nothing to lose I guess.

Yep, that's the one Al.  I use it a bit during footy season when I'm not online and as Dwaino said - it's free so nothing to lose.

Yes thanks Smokey and Al. I've already got this one though have only been using it for the last month or so. I expect it to ramp up when the footy begins. By the way RFC_Offical is talking the club may be releasing an 'offical' app for the club this year. I wonder what it could add that this existing app doesn't already???

Thanks again  :thumbsup

I wasnt informed because you hadn't told me Mr RFC Official

Could swear I've mentioned it here before, ah well, to be honest 2012 should be pretty big. New websites that will work on apple devices, new Youtube style video player that will work everywhere, and then the apps that should launch by Round 1, big year for my areas.

just to further smokeys comments, will the video require some obscure codecs like Micro$oft's silverlight or will it just require flash player so as many people as possible can watch it without issues?

I believe...not 100%...that it will be based off a YouTube model, no weird software required.

RFC_Offical - Is there any offical Richmond Apps yet? If so/not where/when can we download them and what will the cost (initially and for downloads etc) be? I recently purchased an iPhone and moved into the 1990's, so am keen to have access to anything Tiger related asap  :thumbsup

Cheers :cheers

Coming by round 1 for Apple, Blackberry and Android...free.

But the websites arent being designed by Telstra.

There is the single best piece of news I've heard in 2012.  Now, as long as the site caters for Linux as well as Macs then we can all be happy campers.  It's a big world out there RFC_O and not all of us are beholden to Big Brother.   :shh

:gotigers

Trust me, if it was our decision by ourselves we would have had a new website years ago.

Its interesting that originally the Bummers took a chance and went off on their own and created a pretty good independent website through IMG but then it was shrouded by the Telstra cloak of header and footer banners. Obviously this was done as part of the AFL sponsorship commitments to Telstra. I am expecting that our new site will be as good or if not better than essendonfc now that a 3rd party is involved but expect to have the Bogpond header and footer crap.

My worry in this regard, is that unless there is some standard look & feel navigation on each of the 18 club sites, it will be time consuming finding the positioning of the data.
Not all sites have an intuitive style.

Teams have been given two over-arching designs to choose from, and then can also choose where different widgets/boxes sit with-in them. It's up to the club to choose their layout, so while yes the overall look and feel will be similar, there will be differences and also a lot more colour involved as well.

Wasn't designed by IMG but yes, they're back in to the AFL network now so we will have Telstra headers/footers and just so you're aware, we're not massive fans of that aspect either.
