Rumour on bomberblitz that with Freo selecting Hill, if Hartlett goes to Port they will take Rich but if Port choose Rich then they'll grab Vickery.

Yes we would love Vickery wouldn't we, fingers crossed. I will have to wait as the draft is on fox at 3pm WST. I will record it while swimming with the kids, come back, have a shower, sit with a beer and watch Vickery join the Tiges. I don't want to watch it on the net.

Looks like Hartlett is almost definitely going to be picked up by Port.

... it seems less likely the club will use its highest-ever draft pick to secure gun Victoria Metro tall Tyrone Vickery.

Vickery, who recovered from a knee reconstruction to earn All-Australian honours this year, has been linked to the Power since October’s NAB AFL Draft Camp, but now appears to have slipped behind local talent Hamish Hartlett in calculations.

The Power took 200cm running machine Matthew Lobbe with their first pick (16) in 2007 and Hartley was confident that he and developing big man Jon Giles could provide enough back-up for Lade and Brogan next year.

Just spoke to very passionate Bomber supporter and the word from Bomberland is that they have decided on Michael Hurley no matter who else is available barring Jack Watts. 
That being said if PA take Hartlett,  Carlton will most likely take Trengrove or Yarran.  Brisbane are keen on Ziebell but may find Rich too hard to resist.
I believe we will still take Vickery if Rich slid that far !!!

As pmac said Brissy will mostly go for a Voss-like midfielder - Rich or Ziebell. They have Brown and Bradshaw up forward and Leuenberger as a promising young ruck so with Lappin retiring they need mids you would think. Maybe Hartlett could be a chance to go up North if he's still around but it looks like he's heading to Port.

It looking more and more that Vickery will be a Tiger in 24 hours time. I'd take Rich ahead of him though if he was to slip down to us as you go for best available but that's unlikely to happen so Vickery looks to be our pick.

The whispers and mock drafts have converged the last few days for the top 9 or so. Everyone now seems to have us picking up Vickery and Post. You've just got to wonder if anyone before us will stick a surprise spanner in the works as far as Hartlett, Vickery and Rich go and they are all gone before #8  . The Bombers pick at #5 becomes the key now.

I know that not many do this and the likelihood of a draftee who plays all 22 in the 1st season running off the rails is probably much reduced BUT.......

with this sort of money available to 17/18 year olds it's not hard to see how some get carried away with the hype and perceived self-importance of it all, and never fulfill their real potential.
