Not on the net but in today's Herald-Sun....

NEW Richmond coach Damien Hardwick was seen sharing a meal with Hawthorn assistant coach Ross Smith at Greek restaurant Philhellene in Moonee Ponds late last week. Wonder whether it was just a friendly meal or could Smith also be heading to Punt Rd .....

You would hope NOT

Probably not new news but confirmation that Kane Johnson has gone too.

ONE HD had the 2004 GF on earlier tonight. The game had almost our new coaching staff playing - Hardwick, Lade and Leppitsch. It'd be our perfect dream for them to have the Tiges in a few years time playing such tough, physical and skillful footy  :pray. Geez Hardwick knew how to suck an opponent in to retaliate and con the ump into giving him a free kick.

Does anyone think Hardwick might give his old teammate Lloydy a call now he's retired and talk about an assistant coaching role with our forwards at Punt Rd?

If trawling for free kicks is on the coaching agenda then why not!!

That we need a good forward coach is undoubted.

Our forward line plays without structure and without purpose.  The number of times we go into the forward 50 out wide and into the pockets would have me pulling my hair out if I had any left.

Even when 'Cho is playing he leads to the wrong places or right in the spots that others are already leading to.

Seems to me that Rawlings picked that one up when he asked the Kid to come and help out, but I didn't see any major difference, although I was only watching on the TV.

I'd really get exercised when we had a set play from outside 50 and there would be little or no movement from any of the forwards, or they'd all try to run to the one place at the same time.

Dunno that Lloyd is the right choice, but please, let us get someone who knows what they are doing.

I was impressed with his press conference.

Hardwick would have an idea whether he is a good teacher.

If he is, I reckon Hardwick could be in touch.

Would also be a bit ironic - Knights and Prescott at Essendon, Hardwick and Lloyd at Richmond!

If we end up with Butcher, he wouldnt be a bad bloke to have around. I never liked Lloyd but his kicking was pretty damn good.

Interesting that you say that, Lloyd and Richo have recieved 244 free kicks each over their repective careers, according to footywire! Richo has given 1 more free kick away though...

More importantly, does he have the hunger to coach if he's lost the hunger to play?

Becomes a mute point becasue he said at his press conference he wasn't interested in getting into coaching was looking at the media.

On Ch10 news when they interviewed him outside his home ( :wallywink I suppose he is contracted to Ch10) he again said to NO to assistants role.
