Some snippets from the article

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-09-21/alastair-clarkson-and-chris-fagan-named-in-hawks-review/101452320

An external review commissioned by the Hawthorn Football Club will reveal allegations that key figures at the AFL club demanded the separation of young First Nations players from their partners, and pressured one couple to terminate a pregnancy for the sake of the player's career.

In some cases, coaches allegedly coerced at least two players to remove SIM cards from their phones and insert new ones in attempts to cut them off from their partners and focus them entirely on the club's pursuit of football success. In each case, the player was a young First Nations draftee in his first five years with the club.

"It was so intimidating, confusing and upsetting," Ian says.

"Clarkson just leaned over me and demanded that I needed to get rid of my unborn child and my partner. I was then manipulated and convinced to remove my SIM card from my phone, so there was no further contact between my family and me. They told me I’d be living with one of the other coaches from that night onwards.

He felt he had no choice. "He told me to kill my unborn kid."

It started when Zac was pulled into a meeting with Clarkson, Fagan and Jason Burt. Zac says he was told that Kylie was holding him back from progressing his career and that he needed to end the relationship to fulfil his potential.

Lot of water to go under the bridge yet, but Clarkson's tenure at North is looking shot

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan will take a leave of absence to co-operate with an AFL investigation into allegations about the treatment of Indigenous players at Hawthorn

Andy Maher on SEN just said 7news is reporting that Clarkson won't start at North Melbourne until the end of the investigation.

Alastair Clarkson "shocked" and denies any wrongdoing in statement on racism claims.

In a statement released by his management on Wednesday afternoon:

The health, care and welfare of our players, staff and their families were always my highest priorities during my time at Hawthorn Football Club.

I was therefore shocked by the extremely serious allegations reported in the media earlier today. I was not interviewed by the authors of the report commissioned by the Club, and nor have I been provided with a copy of the report.

I was not afforded any due process and I refute any allegation of wrongdoing or misconduct and look forward to the opportunity to be heard as part of the AFL external investigation.

I have today contacted the President of North Melbourne Football Club and we have mutually agreed that I will step back from my responsibilities at the Club so I can fully cooperate in the investigation.

As the matters are now subject to an investigation, I will not make any further comment at this stage.

North Melbourne club statement:

The North Melbourne Football Club is aware of serious historical allegations made against individuals who worked at the Hawthorn Football Club, including incoming North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson.

The matters raised are now with the AFL's Integrity Unit and Alastair welcomes the opportunity to co-operate with any investigation relating to the claims.

Alastair was due to commence work with North Melbourne on November 1 however he will delay the start of his tenure to allow time to fully participate in the investigation.

Given the matters raised are confidential and the investigation is ongoing, the club will not provide any further comment at this time.

Jabba and Caro must be loving this story. Let’s wait until we see the facts…

Story doesn’t seem great, but it’s from one side. Let’s not throw the chop sticks out with the baby just yet.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

What I find poor on Hawthorn's part is as part of their review they didn't bother to speak to either Clarkson or Fagan. Surely, they should have been spoken to?

Obviously,  HQ's Integrity Unit will but they should have been spoken to in the first instance

And BTW where's Jeff Kennett? Why didn't he fade the media today
