Another let down, really not good enough, we just can't seem to get up for these games can we. Players like Martin and Cotchin just can't compete when the pressure is on in these games....

How did Gourdis go, seems like he had a few possies.

people people people.

we are just not good enough yet. thats it. Glorified wins against freo and Bombers without their best players just hides the fact that we are better off finishing at the lower end that finishing 9th and in no mans land again.

Our biggest liabilities are the following

browne or lack of ruck options
Mcguane
Hislop
Edwards
Farmer
Miller

my biggest concern is the lack of new ideas today when we had our backs against the wall.

Newy had kicked 2 why not throw him in the forward line and Farmer back.

What is wrong with our club is we give spuds like Hislop many chances to perform and he throws it back in our faces.

Browne. ooh dear me. Gus aside i doubt i have seen a more pitiful ruckman in my entire life. His hands on the hips when the ball is within 30 metres was cringe worth stuff. Its not his fault he gets selected its ours.

How Post is not tried ahead of Miller is another strange decision.

Now Jackson is he a tagger or is he a midfielder. Im confused. I have rarely see him defeat an opponent. Moloney smashed him today.

Bottom line is we still need 1 A grade midfielder, defender and a descent ruckman that dont ruck like Trent Knobel, if we are going to compete with the best.

Mcguane. Can anyone on here seriously say with a straight face that he is a descent defender. Should have offloaded him to GC or anyone for nothing.

Well today was definitely a trip back to the painful memories of the past 3 decades. Dropping marks, handballing straight to the opposition, pathetic opposition players having a day out (Jurrah, Petterd, Green, Jones and worst of all that tiara-wearing umpire's love child Watts were the duds who we gifted some form this time around) and maintaining that frustrating 5 goal deficit; just enough to use up all optimism on thinking that there's a possible comeback on the cards, but enough to make it near impossible for us to come back. Vickery, Newman and Foley were perhaps the only decent performers. Rance tried hard, but there's only so much you can do when you're up against umpires who will ping you for contact.

All in all, an embarrassing performance. Only positive was that I've now got 4 less hours to record in the Learner's log book as a result of watching that.

Um, ok daniel...so are Martin and Cotchin not considered "A Grade" midfielders??? What it is, they have to play more consistent football, instead of cameo games. Or did you mean we need at least 1 more A grade mid??

Martin and cotchin got 40 odd touches.

I think Its more they struggle to carry the poorest players in the side week after week  at such a young age.

of course they are potential A graders but we need depth.

We lose Lids, Dusty or Cotch for a year who will replace them. Edwards, Hislop. Come on lets be serious, we dont have enough depth. Fact

We need 1 more to add to complement them because you have to remember Lids is not even classified as a mid either so really we only have 2 A graders in Dusty and Cotch.

Pies. Pendlebury, Swan, Daisy
Dees. Scully, Trengove, Moloney
Cats, Ablett, Champman, Selwood, Bartel
Lions. Power, Black, Voss, Lappin, Aker

We still have some serious holes gents, that picture is becoming very clear which is why a mid table finish is pointless

40 odd....how about 19 each, way below what front line mids should be getting, and wen you look at the players gathering more possessions above them.....it's a concern!

41 N.Foley 27 14 13 1 0 5 107
14 B.Houli 27 17 10 0 0 4 84
3 B.Deledio 26 13 13 1 0 4 89
26 R.Nahas 23 10 13 0 0 2 77
10 S.Edwards 22 14 8 1 1 5 92
17 C.Newman 20 14 6 2 0 3 102
