Would he want to come to Richmond even if we offered? If facilities are such an issue then what do we say when we haven't even begun the Punt Rd redevelopment yet :-\.

I think we will pick him up if he's there and he will come IMO regardless of our facilities. I think our re-building of the facilities is a little further advanced than the Roos.

Hmmmm

Let me see....

The Roos new facilities are set to be completed in the next 4-6 weeks

Our main re-development of Punt Road (which includes the new area for the footy dept) has just started and wont be finished until late 2010

I think we can say the Roos may just be slightly ahead of us

Hopefully Melbourne commit to a player with PSD pick 1 which makes our selection the first live pick
That way we can get all the kids down to train with us knowing we're their best chance of getting onto a senior list
If no one stands out then perhaps look at taking the chance on someone like Smith

That wasn't what you said or asked

You said "I think our re-building of the facilities is a little further advanced than the Roos."

What I pointed out was that at this time our facilities ARE NOT further advanced than Norths because theirs like it or not are just about finished and our finished product is about 12 months away - so to say we are ahead isn't right

And just as an aside there is in interview with Smith in this mornings paper. It isn't the "facilities" as such but the structure for medical, conditioning and footy science he has issues with. Could not beleive when I heard that North don't have full time medicall people (eg Doctor & physio)

I wouldn't waste our PSD pick on him but I hear Geelong has de-listed Kane Tenace today

Glad to see that other clubs stuff up with their top 10 draft picks as well  :rollin

See the Lions have officially de-listed Joel MacDonald

Would he be worth looking at with pick in the PSD?

Actually I am not interested in other teams discards - was just raising the question for discussion  :thumbsup

Wondering if people think he has some upside - seeing he played 22 games in 2009 and is only 25

MacDonald is inconsistent. He either gets a stack of it which makes him stand out or he is quiet. He'd probably make a good depth player for a side challenging but we don't need another middle-of-the-road player for mine. We also have too many flankers as it is  :-\.
