By Luke Holmesby | Mon 07 December, 2009

SEVEN teams will take part in next week’s NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft.

Melbourne, Richmond, Fremantle, the Sydney Swans, West Coast, Port Adelaide and Essendon will each have one pick each.

The Demons will take former Lion Joel Macdonald with the first pick, while Fremantle has committed to former Bomber Adam McPhee. The Swans will take former Lion Daniel Bradshaw with the fourth overall pick.

West Coast and Port Adelaide were the last two clubs to qualify for the draft after delisting Tyson Stenglein and Glenn Dawson respectively.

Former Carlton big man Cameron Cloke has been reported to be a possible selection for Port Adelaide with pick six.

The draft will take place using Microsoft Live Meeting technology, enabling them to lodge their selections from their club base.

The NAB AFL Rookie draft will immediately follow the pre-season draft.

NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft order is as follows:
1. Melbourne
2. Richmond
3. Fremantle
4. Sydney Swans
5. West Coast
6. Port Adelaide
7. Essendon

Aaaarrrrggghhhhhh!!  There are a number of viable alternatives - just as good and just as/more economical - why the slutty reference to Microsoft?  Is there no end to the incestuous relationship between the AFL, Bigpond and Microsoft?  I think I detest them (the AFL and Bigpond and Microsoft) more than journo's.   :banghead

Perhaps I am wrong but don't we get our PSD pick before GC jump in and pillage the Rookie Draft with the first 5 choices?

Gold coast dont have a pick in the PSD from my understanding, just the rookie draft. They have also said publicly that they will be looking to recycled players in the rookie draft, so ther may not be the pillage of kids you expect.

If richmond are interested in Justin whathisname from up that way, I wonder if they will take him in the PSD to keep Gold Coast's grubby hands off him?

IMO

1)Panos
2)Grimes
3)Patrick
4)Dare

If GC take mature aged players and they need to if they want to protect the young kids we should get 2 of these boys.

I also believe we should also have a look for a project ruckman.

Fair chance Patrick will go to GC camboon - unless we take him in the PSD but I can't see that happening.

with our Pre-Season pick, i would like us to take the best available midfielder or best available tall defender.

however, i am a fan of Matthew Panos, so i would like him!

you can never have enough tall forwards!

but it does look like Richmond will draft a player who is currently training with us with the un-offical information being Grimes is that player who will be

drafted in the Pre-Season.
