Yeah good n bad news. Let's hope it does heal but sometimes ligaments just don't heal.  Hows Mrakov doing in the 2s

Richmond's Reece Conca will miss several weeks after he dislocated his left ankle in a sickening incident on Thursday night.

Conca will wear a moon boot for the next two weeks, before undertaking a conditioning program.

Peter Burge discussing Reece's dislocated ankle injury:

Reece Conca, dislocated ankle

“He’s in a (moon) boot for two weeks . . . We’re pretty much treating it like a sprained ankle rehab. He comes out of the boot and then it’s about the swelling coming down, his ligaments, his stability, balance and things like that. . . So, really, it’s just about getting functionally moving once he is out of that boot and how long it takes for us to get him jogging, running, striding and changing direction . . . Timeline-wise, it’s very hard to say, but we’re fairly optimistic it will be before the end of the season, hopefully sooner. At the time it looked terrible, obviously. But Reece is super positive and he’s in good spirits. It’s a good situation out of something that could have been really, really bad.”

Tom Browne on Ch 7 just said Conca may be back in six weeks. Which means he could be back for the finals.

Tiger tracking well for pre-finals return

REECE Conca is tracking well for a return from his ankle injury, with Richmond expecting the Tiger to be back before the end of the home and away season.

The 25-year-old went down in a sickening incident in the club's round 15 win over Sydney, and there were fears his year would be cut short by a fractured ankle.

But Conca, who has suffered a run of bad injury luck throughout his career, was buoyed by the news he had escaped serious injury and merely dislocated the ankle.

Coach Damien Hardwick said Conca has ramped up his rehabilitation program and remains on track for a return to football before the end of the season.

"He's running at the morning so he's moved from the Alter G (running machine). He's running laps [as of] Tuesday, so he's started to progress which is great. We're very confident he'll play some football," Hardwick said on Thursday.

"When it is we're not too sure, but we think it will be before the finals."
