I agree with so many posters and their posts but the holes in our list are so palpable its not funny.
That's why blokes like White Jackson Edwards Browne etc get games week in week out.
Just a bit of hindsight for a second before we return back to our ranting Dimma game plan has gone to poo because we don't have the cattle on the park good enough to carry it out.
Yeah sure I agree the club is garbage poo brothel bent over and rammed up the anus but that aint Dimma's fault its the previous admin who has f a r k e d us and the off field team currently who are getting their tax breaks running the club. Craig Cameron is a Melbourne reject who is clearly incapable of scraping together an adequate list of footballers.
I see Martin in the last month and Martin in the first 30 games and the kid looks like he has been bereft of confidence is going backwards and has forgotten the basics of footy. Something is fishy at the club behind the iron curtain currently we just can't go from one level of intencity to another so soon................

This thread is hilarious. So many people so irate at the loss as if we were ever a chance to win.
I haven't expected to win in over 10 years. My weekends are so much better with that mindset. ( although I still HATE losing to Carlscum).

There in lies the problem. We're just so used to losing that we just accept dismal performances week in, week out because we've come to expect it. It's a losing culture that needs to change!

problem is dizza we've had promise after promise with no result. It's a virus that has been there since 1984. 
I thought it might be frawley our last coach to bring us finals. But it wasn't to be. I thought it might be Wallace but we found him out 6 months in he was full of it. We now have Hardwick and the ONLY thing I remember him saying when he arrived was "IF YOU CANT WIN YOUR OWN BALL YOU CANT PLAY IN THIS JUMPER!".
I dunno but his selection criteria has changed somewhat.

It's a culture that needs a blowtorch to it. Burned up and eradicated. I don't see anyone doing this.

and how does Rejects like Hislop and Miller get brought off our rookie list?? We except rubbish players. We except below par performance. This mentality has obviously crept into Hardwicks thinking. He may have had great ideals but the virus is effecting his judgement now.
I reckon he should sit and have a coffee with Paul Roos. Maybe take a copy of the list with him. Roos will let him know who's up to it or not. New perspective a reality check from different eyes.

RICHMOND onballer Shaun Grigg has dismissed the warm and gusty conditions in Cairns as a factor in the Tigers' 15-point loss to Gold Coast.

The game was the first of a lucrative three-match deal the club signed to play home games in Far North Queensland that has drawn criticism after the Suns upset Richmond on Saturday.

Coach Damien Hardwick bristled when it was suggested after the match that the result could have been a lot different if played in Melbourne, and Grigg agreed.

"The warm conditions or the wind shouldn't be a factor," Grigg said.

"There's no doubt that we haven't been playing the sort of footy that we know we can.

"We can play good footy for a half or so, but in the AFL that's not good enough."

The small stadium allowed the strong wind from the south to have a huge influence on the contest. with 19 of the 21 goals scored at the end favoured by the breeze.

The Tigers used the wind to their advantage in the first quarter and opened up a 36-point lead, but could not stop the Suns scoring freely in the second term. Although that saw Richmond surrender its lead at half-time, it was the third quarter that proved pivotal.

"We didn't really take our opportunities in the third term when we had the wind and, credit to Gold Coast, they were able to suck some time off the clock and use the ball pretty well," Grigg said.

"We knew we had to score to win in the last quarter, so we tried to keep playing our way and try to lock the ball in our forward half, but we weren't able to."

The loss was Richmond's sixth in its last seven games, which led Hardwick to suggest his team had lost its 'mojo'.

Grigg was thankful for a little extra time to regroup before facing Geelong at Etihad Stadium.

"We've got an eight-day break now so we'll have the opportunity to get an extra session in work hard to turn this around," he said.

I have been so disappointed over the last 3 weeks but the person I'm most angry at is the Board - 2 games we would have won sold. The moneys great for the club, but has &^%$#% our momentum and any chance we had to finally make finals this year. 

Firstly: Incorrect direction of blame here - blame the CEO for the selling of the games, it was Benny's call & benny's recommendation to the board, he admitted it today on 3AW. Rightly in this case the board backed their new CEO on this call.

Let's not foget that we all have said the Benny appointment has been a good one for the Club and the Board have backed all his recommendations thus far, which is what one expects for 1st year CEO who understands the comp. The CEO would have convinced them that it was the right decision from a financial perspective which must be their main focus when you are carryng a $4mil debt.  And in light of Benny's comment today (again on 3AW) that the Footy Dept backed his recommensation as well the Board was always going to sign off on it.

Secondly, stripes it would appear you are like a lot of us (me inlcuded) in that you were "seduced" by some good wins against Freo & Essendon and got your hopes up about finals.... that hope isnt' in a way the Clubs fault that's "Our" fault for getting sucked up in the frenzy... Go back to the start of the year and if you hoesntly thought we were a chance for finals then I understand your disaapointment & frustration. Personally I've come to relaise that I didn't expect finals I just wanted to see us improve, granted the last 4 games have been diabolical but right at the monent when I am absolutely honest with myself the win/loss columns are about where i expected them to be before the season started

Finally, as I said after witnessing the disaster that was the Darwin game the harsh reality & bottom line is good teams win wherever & whenever they are fixtured to play. Blaming the the club for selling the games is an easy "get out of jail card" for the players & the coaches. Simply we are not a good team and all the last 4 games has highlighted is that we still have a bloody long way to go before we are

Darwin was a debacle given our preparation but the selling of games is a cop out. WGAF.

We lost to GC, end of story. Location matters very little. No excuses we should've won that anywhere. Facts are when teams play us they get excited as they know there a real chance, always has been the case always will be. We are the joke of the AFL

I referred to the board generally because I didn't wish to individualise the blame. I believe Benny is doing a great job and is trying everything in his power to make us financially competitive. Despite the ability of the team, selling the games took away any advantage we would have gained playing in a Melbourne. Both sold games were to venues where conditions were foreign and detrimental to our normal game style. In retorspect this was a mistake regardless of the revenue raised. I'm glad Benny has taken responsibility for this.

Interestingly my response on these boards despite my frustration has been fairly measured (well at least compared to most it seems ). I have never said that I blame the club or board for our current onfield woes. In fact most of our problems I feel are completely developmental. Confidence is built on success, repetition and understanding. Our young players just need to be continually educated individually, allowed consistency of role/position and understanding of how their team-mates play around them.

The Board has made a mistake but ultimately it is a minor error in the scheme of things. Our currently slump is more due to the age of the list and holes in our structure than our coaches or board. Many supporters aren't willing to accept this preferring to point the finger at individuals but unfortunately the answer is not that simple or easy to correct. If it was then after all the coaches we have sacked over the journey we would be the best club in the league by now

You are gagging if you think selling games wasn't the right thing to do.

Were we ever going to win the Flag this year?

Were we ever going to do any more than maybe scrap into 8th?

Selling the games has kicked a million dollars into the kitty, not selling them probably means we are a million+ short as we would've lost money on the 2 games.

Simple fact is we need more cash to have the resources to compete with the Collingwoods of the comp.

Not many better ways to make easy cash than by selling a game like that, it is not the issue, the issue is the poor performance of the players whether on the MCG against Carlton and Essendon or in Darwin or Cairns.

In a twisted kind of way, the fact that we have lost the two games we sold highlights the bloody reason we sold them in the first place. We deperately need to strengthen the footy department.

Kangas are a poor example, get smashed by top teams and will continue to finish mid range cause they can't afford not to.

They have as bright a future as the Thinking Man's Orange Tim Fleming.
