Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

Dimma needs to start following the teachings of one al Clarkson and cut this joking around crap i see at Training.

anyone late for training then Clarko makes the whole team suffer. Thats brutal and exactly what we want.

I still think Dimma is our man but i would like him to be brutal in his selction and in his general demeanour.

last week should've been reviewed and players need to be taught a lesson.

spot on!
mediocrity is engrained in this club wether or not we like to admit it. Dimma needs to set the standard and absolutely hate anything but excellence. Excellence at training, excellence in every drill performed. if ONE kick doesnt hit the target they start the drill again from the beginning. Dont allow mediocrity to continue like ALL coaches have in the past 20 years otherwise things wont EVER change.

On what basis do people think Malthouse would be doing any better than Hardwick under the cicumstances, in particular leaking goals?

In 2000 maltouse took over a side that finished last on the ladder the year before with 4 wins and a % of 85 in that year they suffered one 10 goal loss, a 50 point loss and a number of narrow defeats

in his first year they finished with 7 wins and % of 86. this included a couple of 10 goal losses a 120 point flogging and a number of 40 odd point losses (including one to us)

In his second year he improved his no of wins ( to finish......9th :P) and an improved % of 107, still with a couple of heavy losses ( carlton is the regular offender through this period) but offset by some large wins.

Did he have to strip back to basics to the same degree dimma has? did he start so far behind the rest of the comp as what dimma has?

I'd say no, yet his first two years were not much better than what we are seeing now.

even in his third year, when the skunks finished 4th, it was with only 13 wins.

It has taken him 10 years to get to where the filth are now, yet some are expecting hardwick to turn a basket case around in what, 1 1/2 seasons. eff me not even macgyver could make strawberry jam out of sh|t .

Yep fair enough Al . I'd stick with Dimma anyway but facts are only the poxy Suns and maybe Port have had more points scored against them this year than us and it was the same last year.

When hearing the news Dimma was to be our coach all i thought i could depend upon is at least we would be a team that was tough and had a go just like Dimma played. But to this point they are still weak and don't won't to play that type of footy. For me this is his biggest problem at the moment.
Toughen these boys up Dimma.......please!!!!

the rot set in when we lost in darwin.

I agree, and dont want to go off topic blaming the "selling of games"or anything like that at all
But I believe from that point the players belief in themselves or care factor or what ever you want to call it has just drained away since that match

In hindsight it was as if the club thought we had arrived after beating Essendon in front of 83,500 with all the finals like atmosphere as was mentioned post match as well as the possibly the three Bomber teamates going head to head in Dimma vs Thompson and Hird. All these little sub plots. We won the match and we were the media darlings. We handled it appallingly and have never recovered since. Head was in the clouds for five weeks then we came down with a thud after the Blues game. The higher you seem to be the harder and further you fall. Club needs to refocus realign regather and respond.

Dimma get back to the tough talk of season 2010 and forget this crap of friendly father figure and ensure those that need to be moved on are gone.

I don't think it is anything but tiredness.  It is a young list they are tired, lots of injured, poo happens.  Don't blame the coach.

We weren't playing with less numbers than Essendon and we activated our sub late. We aren't blaming the coach but its the players that are running out there and performing and frankly as in the past they failed to stand up to the onslaught of the opposition.

the problem is not so much the youngsters its the senior players that are letting us down now

the ones who have played close to or near 100 games. Newman, Jack R, Edwards, Jackson have had a horrid month lets be honest.

In any other team id say 2 of those wouldnt get a game outside of GWS and GC and even that is a stretch right now.

Then you have the e graders like Hislop still getting a game. There in lies half the problem

We drop Hislop who isn't up tao scratch for White who isn't up to scratch either. Like for like.
Dimma cannot get rid of every dud on the list he inherited in one hit. Let him serve his three years see where he is with the list and take it from there.
One who should be under the microscope in the media is Wallace. Got off scot free once he left the club. Recruited too many flankers and we still have a team who can't tackle, break tackles and shepherd. That's the legacy of the Wallace era two years on.

An error Mr Tigra IMHO by Dimma but hardly one that was going to stifle the club long term.
Sure Hicks Contin or someone else may have benefitted the club more but given the result in the last few weeks I don't think the difference may have been that great on the scoreboard which is what we base our commentary on ultimately. Wallpaper over the cracks possibly. :thumbsup

yes played coburg ressies I believe

I know he's been injured but struth he hasn't looked close to getting promoted this year at all

Of the handful of Coburg games I've seen he wasn't great.

Raises the question will they keep him beyond this year  ???
