Username is spot on. Morton stood up today and he's worked his arse off in the reserves. Got his chance and he took it. He might not have had flashy numbers this year but we (Richmond fans) should know what he's capable of when on song. His efforts have been simply brilliant. You put those great efforts and mix it with his natural ability and you've got a stuffing good forward. Nahas doesn't come close to the player that Morton is. Nahas wouldn't get a game at Sydney.

Morton is just yet another player that Hardwick failed to inspire. He is the forward we are missing right now and our club let him go far too easily.

He had 6 kicks 5 handballs and 2 goals. He could have had the same stats at our club and had we played and lost, people would be saying how useless he was!
A team is the sum of its parts. Mitch was not seen to have the parts at Richmond. Even at Sydney he was payed in the twos for most of the year and was on his last chance to improve his defensive side. To his credit he did that and now has a premiership medallion.

GET OVER IT. HE PLAYS FOR SYDNEY NOW.

We should be backing our own players. Not castigating them.

With Edwards and King if front of him and with the option of pushing Martin and Cotchin down forward
Nahas will struggle in 2013.
Especially as they are after Knights from the Crows

Congrats to Mitch. All about being in the right place at the right time. If McGlynn hadn't done a hammy Morton wouldn't have got the opportunity. Interesting comment Mitch made after the game with Richo about his Swan teammates not trusting him midway through the year.

Yep Football isn't fair and can be cruel. Champs like Richo or a Bobby Skilton play for years remaining loyal to one club for hardly a finals appearances and then you have guys like Morton ending up with a premiership medal after a couple of games late in the season at his 3rd club and scraping into the final 22 of a GF side. Just proves again Football is a team sport.

If you read over the archives it would be pretty clear i was always one of MM biggest fans and i was pretty shirty he got limited chances when plenty of others like edwards and even hislop seemed to get plenty
You re just being inflammatory with the nahas comparison, we ll never really know but season form would suggest that seeing as he kicked 10 x as many goals as MM there s every chance he too could have nailed ummm 2 goals
