I don't think these trades are in order are they?  I thought the final order was part of a competition that will be announced shortly?

No.3: Paul Sproule

Spent four seasons at Essendon and been a member of the Bombers’ losing Grand Final side in 1968, but at the end of 1971 he was, somewhat surprisingly, traded to Richmond. The Tigers couldn’t believe their luck to secure the services of the highly-skilled midfielder for a moderate transfer fee of $2000.

No.2: Barry Rowlings

Richmond originally attempted to recruit Barry Rowlings in the early 1970s, but missed out on getting him to Punt Road then, due to the fact he was playing for Moe, which was in Hawthorn’s country zone.

He quickly became a valuable contributor at Hawthorn, playing 72 games with the club, including the 1976 premiership win against North Melbourne, before departing the Hawks’ nest at the end of the 1978 season, following a serious knee injury.

Hawthorn felt he was finished as a player at the highest level because of his knee problems, but Richmond was confident that, even at age 28, he still had plenty to offer, and moved swiftly to sign him.

I was mortified when we lost Billy Barrot. I loved his long raking drop kicks.

But Ian Stewart went on to become a legend of the game.

From the RFC article...

To this day, Stewart is the only player in league football history to have achieved the feat of winning a Brownlow Medal, and being part of a premiership team, at two different clubs.

And, just for good measure, he also happens to be a member of both Richmond’s and St Kilda’s Team of the Century.

cant remember which vid its on but i recall sheeds talking about how Billy marked the ball in front of him and then proceeded to show The MCG members the ball...Sheeds remembers thinking, ok showoff now you better drill this,and Billy did just that from an acute angle and about 60 metres out
