and his marking was superb

I knew he could do it but got lambasted for asking for it :shh

You got lambasted for questioning his marking in a game in the wet where he took about a dozen marks and maybe dropped 1 and yet you chose to say

Just hold some of those grabs lad and you would have killed it :bow :bow

Don't think that's an unfair summation and I stand by it. I by no means said he was poor just stated he should have held some of his marks that he dropped which was more than one. I didn't even say I expected him to complete ALL his dropped marks, only SOME because I am quite aware of the difficulties of taking an intercept mark above your head with oncoming opposition in the wet. It was the two chest marks he dropped that I thought he would have completed and was sure he would in the future as it was his first (or close to) game back from a long lay off...

But stuff it, I guess he's beyond criticism

Totally agree. Showed enormous character to come back and have the impact he did.

That ripper mark in front of Tex(?) by out-bodying Betts in the middle of the ground is the sort of stuff I was saying the bloke could do :clapping :clapping

Nick Vlastuin has 20 disposals at 90 per cent efficiency in today's match, as well as 424 metres gained and 15 uncontested possessions as well as launching that last goal after stopping a Devon Smith shot at goal on his defensive goal-line.

Big chance if he brings his form from the 2017 finals to this season.

He has indeed. This time last year he looked stuck as a footballer but has grown exponentially since coming back from injury

Vlastuin "honoured" to play on Anzac Day Eve

By SEN
19 April 2018

Richmond defender Nick Vlastuin said he’s honoured to be a part of the Anzac Day Eve game this year after watching from the stands in 2017.

The 23-year-old will play his 100th game on Tuesday night and can’t wait to be out there.

“Last year I actually missed this game so I was sitting in the crowd with a couple of mates and before the game when they get all the lights and that you get goosebumps and just want to be out there,” Vlastuin told SEN Breakfast.

“It’s an honour to be playing Anzac Eve.”

Vlastuin said the group of defenders at Richmond like to go away in the pre-season to work on their team bonding.

“We go on a backs camp, just a night in pre-season every year, try and build that bond because it is a team within a team and now we’ve been playing pretty solid footy together for probably three or four years now with the same sort of back six," Vlastuin said.

“We all know each other’s games and then we can build off that I suppose so it does make a huge difference."
