Freo have Crows, Lions, Roos and Cats. Win 3 of these and it would be near impossible for them to miss finals. Beating Crows and Roos probably in our interest now.

Crow bots have Dockers, Tigers, Swans and GC - another key game for us. Crows lose to us and it impacts their top 8 chances significantly. They have a very tough run home.
Freo has beaten Adelaide which does us a favour. So if by some miracle we beat the Eagles then we'll go back into the Eight.

Before the season started, 5 "locks" for the Top 8:-
Magpies, Hawks, Swans, Cats and the Eagles.
Still going to leave Pies and Eagles in this mini ladder for the time being.
Bombers and Freo becoming "locks" for the 8 in the next month.
The lock-ins now IMO are Hawks, Cats, Swans, Freo and Pies. Collingwood have 3 gimmes coming up to take them to 9-4.

I still wouldn't have Essendon as certainties. Last week was more a reflection of how pitifully we played rather than how good the Bombers are. Despite dominating the centre clearances and us giving the ball back to them 26 times in our back half, they still could only kick 13 goals. I wasn't surprised the Swannies won easy tonight over them. Essendon have got Carlton and Eagles in Perth in their next 3 games so let's see where they sit after that.

So I think the last 3 spots in the Eight are still up for grabs. It's out of Ess, Carl, WC, Adel and us. On current form and personnel we are most unlikely of those five but hopefully we get some players back after the bye and can regroup.

Hard to see North making it as they will need to win 10 of their last 13 while Port are gone as they got done by the Dogs tonight and now have lost 5 straight.

I don't see Nought making the 8 but they can and will shape it.
Next 6 games for us critical.
Need as a minimum to go 4-2.

So we got it done and hit 7th on the ladder with a bye to regroup and a draw that opens up.
Great win tonight which will silence a few doubters - in the media and on this forum.
We also picked up % which is a huge bonus. Makes up for the relatively low margin vs the Demons.

This has really put us in control of our destiny.

@FoxFootyAnalyst - "Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon & Richmond are all in the top-8 together for the first time since after Round 19, 2001."

You know I'm an old timer from way back Mr Tigra. Fit the typical Demographic and age of an RFC supporter in his late 30's who has seen jack skata all his life from RFC.
Can't blame me for being at times a sceptic. :thumbsup

Will be really hard for West Coke to make it now after a 4th loss at home. If we knock off Adelaide the 8 is pretty much sorted as long we win the ones that we should and can afford to drop a few.
