IF         this was the Richmond of previous seasons …

THEN   … it would lose this weekend’s game against Essendon. Let’s see if they’ve really improved.

A betting guy on SEN before the 5pm news had the Bombers still favourites but he said there's been some late money for the Tigers.

Bloke from Sportsbet that jumps on Triple M every week reckons all the money has been Tiger's way and the line has come right in.

Our jumper: Discipline, Awareness, Belief, Desperate.

Discipline-to stick to the game plan.
Awareness- of your opponents and your team mates.
Belief- in each other & the club.
Desperate-at each contest. Never say die, we will not lose mentality.

I want to see us squash the bombers hopes, pound their bodies into submission, break their will, smash their hopes, crumble their chances, pulverize their peptides.
We must overcome & overwhelm them.
We must quash their hopes, quell their excitement, extinguish their run & conquer.
We will demoralize, depress, devastate, discourage, humble & humiliate their supporters.

No passengers!
No ball watchers!
No pulling out of contests!
No rabbits in headlights moments!
No pee-weak half hearted attempts!
No soft lollipop sissy footy!
No pussy's that can't handle big game!

It's time to make a statement.
It's time to take a stand.
It's time to come to play.
It's Tiger time!

Carlisle will match-up on Jack so we'll need TV and McGuane  :-\ to step up and kick a couple each rather than our mids just bomb it on Jack's direction. Whoever has Fletcher is the one we should isolate and play through. It's what opposition coaches have done in recent weeks to really expose Fletcher as he's looked slow and it's stopped him from playing that unaccountable loose man in defence role that he loves to play.

Our small forwards and midfield press need to put pressure on the Bombers when they have the ball is in our forward third. Their half-backs aren't the most reliable kicks out of defence and enough pressure on them with no free options upfield to kick to will force turnovers we can exploit. Of course we can't return the favour by making dumb turnovers ourselves. It's still a flaw in our game that as a team we give away too many avoidable charity goals to the opposition through mostly dumb decision making or via schoolboy skill errors (see Geelong game and last week).

In the midfield, we'll need to deprive them of their run or should I say front-running as most of their outside mids love waiting forward of a contest or stoppage for the ball to be dish out to them by mainly Watson, Hocking and Howlett. If given space around and forward of the ball they can score quickly - they really are a side of downhill skiers. When you break that link from inside to outside by winning the contested footy ourselves or at least applying pressure and depriving them of easy/clean clearances, you pretty much shut down the effectiveness of Essendon's midfield and as a result you suffocate their forwards. Opposition sides in recent weeks have gone out there and hunted Essendon with success; this is what we need to do.

There is a stat that prior to last week (I assumed it has changed since he was quiet and got subbed early) that we go to McGuane 38% of the time. Both Carlisle and Hooker I think have been playing well and I assume will go to Jack and Ty. At least McGuane will be able to keep Fletcher honest. Even if he goes to Vickery it's still making him accountable.

The last few weeks the druggos have looked shakey when the game is tight. We're one of the fastest scoring teams in the comp so hopefully our midfield which has more polish can get on them early and we can give some scoreboard pressure causing them to panic.

5 to 10 minutes a quarter Id like to see Deledio and Martin go down and play in the forward line on Fletcher.

This week is a very special week for the indigenous people.
Pride for race, colour and creed, this week more than any other is a celebration for not only our great indigenous game but for the all aboriginal greats that have graced our game.

The Dreamtime match is the pinnacle of this celebration.
It's one of the most important for all indigenous players and tonight's game will be no different.

Last night I saw the great Adam Goodes, whom I consider the best I've seen, work some magic and was clearly the best on ground. He's great night tarnished with the unfortunate incident late in the game. As a father I was appalled at what transpired not only by what was said but the fact that not one adult stood up to walk with her as she was escorted out. She's a young girl FFS! :banghead
Maybe says more about her parents than anything else.

These games definitely makes any indigenous player taller, faster and magical, no doubt about it.
This incident will only enhance the resolve of any aboriginal player this weekend. By playing over and above will only emphasize and spotlight that resolve of all in the indigenous community.

I can't see us winning tonight now. They have too many aboriginal players that will lift tonight to make the statement even louder just incase people haven't heard it yet.
The club that keeps giving.
