We need more than that and Hammer just doesn't bring it. How often does he a) run under the ball or b) stick his arms up and drop the mark. Last night I even saw him go up for a mark and he was looking down at the ground he was that scared of contact

All I seen was he tapping to advantage more often than not

No wonder you don't see his flaws then. OPEN YOUR EYES!

Hmm had only 4 more HO's than Tippett and Kurt had 10 more possessions, 3 more tackles and kicked 2 big goals (one directly matched up on Hampson). I know what game I'd prefer.

Hammer was good with his tap outs, particularly in the last, but as the broken record says around here there's more to the game than just ho's.

TBH Jack we need a ruck that can tap AND take marks around the ground and even be used to kick goals. Hammer can tap. That is not even in the discussion. It is the rest of his game that is left wanting.

So we need to upgrade on him.

Just the same way we look at forwards now. We need them to kick goals and chase and tackle and try to keep the ball in the forward line. Just kicking goals isn't enough to get players games these days.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

^^ This. I'd kill for a ruck that could go forward and take big marks/ kick big goals and get the ball 15 times a game.

He was good last night so well done! We still needs an upgrade at the end of the year. I would not offer him a contract beyond this year however.

Agree with this.

Yes he is good tap ruckman  but outside of that there's. ???? Nothing and thats the problem

But that's different when a player is down back....they are doing their job when they only get 4 possessions, is that right??????
