I would trade Griffiths before Lennon.

49 games in 6 years . Injury prone.

Has a reputation of being a really beautiful kick - but misses some really easy shots from 30 -35 out that become momentum killers. ( Melbourne game , Freo game in Perth - could of kicked the sealer , Freo game at MCG , Elimination final - off the top of my head) 12.15 this year.

Terrific post
Right on the money
Glad someone watched the game  :thumbsup

Crowd of 90,000 and you think only you and mat watched the game?

Betts was a stuff up before he left , starred next season
Garlett was a stuff up before he left , starred next season
Waite was a stuff up before he left , starred next season
Henderson was a stuff up before he left ............

AFL trades: Richmond not prepared to offer Ben Lennon up for trade with Carlton for Chris Yarran

Jon Ralph
Herald Sun

Richmond says it has not offered up second-year forward Ben Lennon as part of its impending Chris Yarran deal and expects to re-sign him soon.

Lennon was dropped by Richmond for the elimination final with reports linking him to Carlton as a swap for talented but erratic defender Yarran.

If he was to depart it would continue this year’s trend of players wanting out of their clubs just two seasons into their initial contract.

But while his management is pursuing a better deal from the Tigers, they believe he will soon sign a new deal to stay.

The No.12 pick from the 2013 national draft played eight highly encouraging games this year after easing into his first year at Richmond.

It is understood the Tigers are closing in on his signature despite demands for a bigger contract for the 20-year-old.

A club spokesman said Lennon was a required player at Richmond who had a long-term future at the club.

“We expect to finalise the contract sooner rather than later,’’ he said.

Yarran posted a message on Instagram confirming his departure, a day after new coach Brendon Bolton said he would not plead with him to stay.

“With Chris he’s a contracted player and an A-Grade player when he is up and about. But if he doesn’t want to play we will have a discussion about what the return is.

“I think I’m in the wrong area if I am trying to convince people to stay.”

The Tigers only want to hand Carlton their second-round pick for Yarran, with the Blues likely to ask for more.

Richmond is also considering its options with Harley Bennell, but is yet to get in front of him to discuss whether he can turn around a chequered career.

This just goes to show you dont watch games of footy.
Betts Waite, Garlett, and Henderson all had multiple good seasons in their roles before they left carlton.
Betts previous 4 season before his last yr at carlton  he averaged 45 goals a season Mate for a sml fwd that is some track record.
Waite as much as i hate the prick had good seasons . Injuries and ill discipline his biggest problem. the bloke averaged very close to 2 goals a game for his last three seasons at carlton.
Garlett sheesh his preceding 4 yrs at carlton netted 39, 48, 29 and 43 goals a season and he laid his share of tackles.
Henderson played as a swing man at Carlton. When played at chb was one of the best defenders in the comp and had a track record of high performances until the last few seasons wher injury and just wanting to get out happened.

You know there is more than one pattern here. One you can see the other you are oblivious too.

What is going on with Yarran  reminds me a bit  of the Hampson fiasco. Yarran has 7 yr history to judge him by. I suggest you look at that history. Then ask what role do we want him for and what are we prepared to pay.  Tick the boxes as you go SML fwd kicks goals, chases, tackles etc.
Based on his 7 yr history at afl level and based on the WAY he has played at the level im loath to even offer up a second round pick for him.

We really shouldn't give Carlton much more for Yarran than what Adelaide gave us for Tambling.

I was concerned before today that the Club had made no comment about Lennon after a week or so of speculation in the media. No guarantees of course when it comes to the trade period but it's good to hear the Club finally make a firm and clear statement wanting Lennon to remain a Tiger.

We really shouldn't give Carlton much more for Yarran than what Adelaide gave us for Tambling.
Are Carlton that dumb though? The Crows were the gift that kept on giving taking Tambling and Angus Graham off our hands for draft picks :yep. From the Tambling trade we still have McIntosh and Elton on our list.

stats  =

did not make top 4

lose first final

I blame the Coach ( for his idiotic selection of Conca and Griffiths ) The Captain , the vice Captain and the entire midfield ( except Miles) for losing that final.

The backline could only hang on for so long before the dam wall burst.

stats  =

did not make top 4

lose first final

Don't think not making the top 4 and losing the final was solely because of the back six

It was a "team" effort.

The list as to why we lost the final is a mile long and starts at the top with the leaders, not the back 6

yep

it is true in terms of point conceded in the season overall stats = good

it is true RFC failed to make top four / win a final

personally i dont think our defense is quite up to Juventus levels

personally id be sending Deledio back there

Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

3rd least points against in the league.
9th points for.

yet you think the backline is our problem?
your solution is to send out third most goal kicker down back?
