Let him go for pick 46 or whatever. He's only depth, but at least has a medal to boost his value.

46 would be a total gyp - unless you haven't had quite enough of the Scumbaggers ripping us off over the years - next year's second....:shh

What would you ask for? Pick 41?

They have picks 9, 41 and 46. Rest is trash.

We won't be getting pick 9 and I don't think we have any interest in any of their players?

As I said, future second for Butler...you do realise clubs can do that now? :shh

Reckon they'll want to pay that much? I don't. I suspect they'll be mid-table next year, so 2nd rounder is likely to be 25-30. I don't value Butler that much.

I do however agree we need points for 2020 and MR Jr.

Getting pick 46 for him would be about right imo.

He is a junktime footballer with very few tricks.

All of Rioli, George, Bolton, Stack, Baker and Higgins are in front of him.

Take the pick and run

If he is being delisted he would have told other clubs as the first contact.
They can wait till its announced and get him for nothing.

Potting a Richmond Premiership player is no way to behave Tone. And you have the temerity to criticise me for potting Castagna for wasting opportunity after opportunity in the grand final. Your a funny bloke Tone, you go around potting the likes of Butler and Rioli all year but when someone criticises Castagna you go of your head abusing people. What gives? Is Castagna a mate of yours or a family member or something.

Would Carlton give us their pick 9 for 20, 38 and Butler? Draft pick calc says that is giving them Butler for Pick 64

Saints chase Dan Butler

St Kilda have entered the race for premiership forward Dan Butler while Collingwood remains hopeful of retaining small forward Jamie Elliott as the market for small forwards heats up on the eve of the trade period.

Butler played in the Tigers' 2017 premiership but fell out of favour midway through this season as Richmond opted for Shai Bolton to fill his role on their way to their 2019 flag with the 23-year-old Butler a crucial player in Richmond's VFL finals series.

Carlton and the Saints have met Butler as they seek players who can apply forward pressure, but the Blues are on the brink of regaining veteran Eddie Betts from Adelaide while they also try to land Tom Papley from Sydney and Jack Martin from Gold Coast.

Sam McClure said Carlton aren't that interested in Butler anymore now that Betts is going back there. Dal Santo reckons Butler would get more regular games in the Saints' forward line than Carlton's.

Stephen Silvagni says Carlton are no longer interested in out-of-contract Richmond forward Dan Butler.

Seems to be a crossed line at Carlton  :huh.

Dan Butler

“We’re still working through the Dan one,” Carlton list manager Mick Agresta said.

“We catch up with a lot of players and managers and have some discussions.

“Although he was still playing, we just thought it would be the best time to lay all the cards on the table with Dan.

“We’ll work through that over the next period as well.

“He’s got to make a decision if he’d like to come to Carlton.

“To be fair, we haven’t had any further discussions since our meeting a couple of weeks ago.”
