It's been tried in the VFL.

He just tends to zone out after he moves to the pocket - forward or back.
The penny just has to drop within himself.
Don't sweat it. He'll either realise when everybody else is getting a game or he'll disappear.

That was the first half of his first year and I think he might've played there in the first few games last year...recall him kicking 3 or 4 in the first match v Sandy I think...we should've shown a bit more a patience and persisted IMO....even if he did look "better" down back ...too bad it doesn't seem to be the done thing in football orthodoxy to play genuine ruck/defender hybrids (can sort of understand why though).....personally think he has huge potential as a ruckman -whether he ever actually realises that potential- or is even given the chance to - is another matter entirely.... :shh

Unfortunately wiith Soldo, Hamspud & and now Callum-Jones on the list I don't see him doing much ruck work this year....even Moore was used ahead of him last year and Miller can supposedly give chop outs too...he only really did it on Saturday because Nankervis was hurt...

I'd rather have Chol than hamspud any day and I think you're right Coleman-Jones I think will be our next big man.
I hope he does more to prove himself and he needs to do that before he can be given a chance IMO. He's only just turned 21 so there's a bit of time left for him to do that, but only a little bit of time.
So let's hope he can pull it all together and bring his better than best to the table.

Oh and why the stuff is hamspud still on our list, move on and make room will ya, FFS
The third quarter, the premiership quarter, it's Dusty time. He starts to shine and then delivers in the most AWESOME fashion.

Very lucky. Some good players out there who could have had his spot.

If Chol's lucky then Soldo should by a lottery ticket.....deserved another chance ...and anyone who bothered to watch the first half of the VFL season would agree.... :shh

Sure, Soldo should buy a lottery ticket, but that is not the comparison I am making.

Good luck to Chol, I hope all our players make the grade. But given we didn't commit to him before the draft, the club obviously had some issues here, issues to which I am not privvy.

I am also not sure what role we see Chol playing in the future. There would lookt to be players ahead of him on our list as a ruck, as a KPD, and most likely as a KPF.

Lot of talent out there this year ready to do anything for a chance.
