Is he eligible?

Third season. I’m not sure what the criteria are?

Yep. At the beginning of this year he was 20 and had played only 9 games.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the NAB AFL Rising Star, nominated players must be under the age of 21 at 1 January [of that year] and have played no more than 10 AFL games.

Bolton is really taking steps forward in his development. We must keep him.

Looked good in conditions that suited him perfectly against a VFL standard opp.

Not wanting to take a lot away from him though. He's taken some serious strides forward this season. Has the most beautiful running gait I've ever seen.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Larkey got it for his 5 goals

Bolton, in his 18th senior game for Richmond, had an AFL career-high 26 disposals, six inside-50s, five clearances, nine score involvements, 492 metres gained, took an AFL career-high nine marks, kicked two goals and applied four tackles.

He thrived on more time through the midfield, where he used his elite pace and skill set to full advantage for the team.

The 20-year-old is averaging 13.9 disposals, 3.9 inside-50s and 3.4 marks per match in nine AFL appearances this season.

Among the competition’s eligible Rising Star contenders, he is ranked first for inside-50s per game, first for score involvements per game, third for bounces per game, sixth for centre clearances per game and ninth for goals per game (nine in total).

Not even half time and I guarantee there won't be a kid more deserving of the nom this week!

Slick, one of my favourites to watch in the entire comp.

Hope he stays.

If not we need a first rounder and change.
