According to Sam Edmund, Bolton has re-signed with the Tigers for $600k per year. Not sure how many years if true.

Prob only a couple years to take him to free agency. Any longer and the club have done real well.

Personally, I'd take him for a mid-late second rounder.

He's been pretty good in the games that I've watched him in this year.

Here's Sam Edmund's article.

EMERGING RICHMOND STAR POISED TO RE-SIGN WITH CLUB

By Sam Edmund
SEN
4 August 2021

Emerging superstar Shai Bolton has re-committed to Richmond on a new deal. Bolton, 22, has agreed to terms on a fresh contract that will be announced soon, ending months of speculation over his future.

He had attracted the interest of Fremantle and West Coast, with the WA clubs keen to lure him back to his home state.

But the electrifying gamebreaker was always likely to stay with the Tigers. Sources said Bolton’s new deal would be worth somewhere in the vicinity of $600,000 a season – less than what he could have commanded on the open market.

He is happy and content at Punt Road, where he is already a dual premiership player and improving at a rapid rate of knots.

While his form has tapered off a fraction in recent weeks, Bolton has averaged 20 disposals and kicked 18.17 from his 17 games in 2021, including a mid-season purple patch where he starred against flag fancies Geelong, Melbourne and Western Bulldogs.

His cat-like agility at ground level, aerial prowess and finishing skills have seen him catch the eye in several games this year, despite Richmond’s rollercoaster campaign.

Tom Brown on CH7 news said Bolton is "off the market"

No details of length of the deal

Said it would be announced in the next few days

Hopefully 2x 600k and his form goes up.

Maybe he's been struggling with the spotlight on and off the field.

There is a lot of pressure going from Dusty understudy to leading role and weight of expectation, appreciate his loyalty, has probably stayed for unders.

Everyone knocking him on here really p’s me off.
Please don’t come back with he is on the field and leaves himself open to criticism which he should be able to deal with.

If you have played top level sport under pressure and the expectations of a club on your shoulders I would like to see how you keyboard criticisers would cope.

Cut him some slack, he is only young, had stuck fat, he may be playing with an injury, just be patient and grateful and leave your frustration in your mind and not in public forums.

Jeeeeeezu fair go.
