Put me out of my misery

You don't need to be miserable.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Caro has more or less backed the TS tweets. She understands its about 1.1 for 6 or 7.

Info regarding Dusty's possible contract is starting to sound a little like strategic leaking to me.

Any info about what sort of a deal he might or might not sign with us gives all the other clubs an insight into what it might take to grab him.

I have a nasty feeling that we are going to get hit with an 11th hour contract demand.

Or it just means he has signed and it will be announced shortly.

Given the way Ralph Carr has handled this, I can't see that being the case.

Dustin Martin contract future: Richmond closing in on deal for Martin to remain a Tiger

Herald Sun
6 August 2017

RICHMOND is believed to be closing in on a multimillion-dollar deal to secure its star midfielder Dustin Martin.

There has been speculation the Tigers have offered the raging Brownlow Medal favourite a six or seven-year contract, worth between $1.1 to $1.2 million per season.

Martin’s manager Ralph Carr has consistently said a deal won’t be finalised until the end of the season, and he reaffirmed that yesterday, saying there was “nothing to report”.

Martin, 26, was this week backed into odds-on favourite to win football’s highest individual honour after his most obvious rival Patrick Dangerfield was suspended for a match.

If Martin re-signed with the Tigers it would sink an audacious bid by North Melbourne to lure him to Arden St.

The Kangaroos are believed to have tabled a six-year offer worth more than $6 million to Martin’s management.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has remained confident this year that Martin’s eight-year tenure at Punt Rd would be extended.

“He has been in the system for eight years not and he is a guy who has improved every year. It’s a credit to him and the work he does,” Hardwick said last month.

“He takes care of himself, I would love to say I have had a massive contribution to it, but he’s just a bloody good player.”

Mark Stevens on Ch 7's GameDay this morning:

* Dusty's manager Ralph Carr was seen again watching North play last night linking Dusty to North.

* Speculation today that Dusty met with North's leadership group over the past week or so.

* Those close to the scene at Richmond remain confident Dusty will stay even though others in the camp say there's still some way to go.

* For what it's worth, Fev reckons 10/10 that Dusty will stay at Richmond. He claimed Dusty wanted another year and that's been sorted.

Maybe Ralph actually supports North?
