Ha.

If Lynch hadn't shanked that one so bad from about 20 m out in front he'd have 4. Easily 5.

Andrews was lucky!

Lynch said he's never done one (a hammy) before but it feels on the minor side.

Tom Browne repeated it's a 2-3 week injury and that Lynch could miss our first final.

Scans have also confirmed premiership forward Tom Lynch, sustained a hamstring strain in the third quarter of last night’s game.

Scans revealed Tiger Tom Lynch's hamstring strain was minor.

Lynch will miss the Tigers’ Round 18 match against Adelaide.

He will undertake a modified training program, and the Club will be in a better position to determine his availability following Round 18.

The pre-finals bye will help his cause in his quest to be fit for Richmond's first final.

Grimes tore his hamstring 27 Aug and played on the 11 Sep

They love the drama the media. Lynch will play IMO

The expected Lynch absence

By Andrew Slevison
SEN
15 September 2020

Richmond’s Tom Lynch is expected to miss just one game with the hamstring strain he sustained last Friday night.

The star Tigers forward came from the ground in the third quarter of the win over Geelong and is now set to be sidelined for the final home-and-away game of the season against Adelaide.

Hamstring injuries are usually at least two weeks on the sidelines but the pre-finals bye after this Saturday’s Round 18 match with the Crows will give Lynch time to recover ahead of the first week of finals.

Teammate Jack Riewoldt says his key forward partner will undergo a similar recovery process to defender Dylan Grimes who recently missed just two weeks with his hamstring issue.

“He hasn’t had any history of hamstring injuries before,” he said on SEN’s Tiger Time.

“I think he’ll be right to go (for the first final).

“He’s bounced back pretty well. I think he’s going to run (today) which is exciting to get him back out on the track.

“So similar progress to Dylan Grimes.”

The Tigers are hopeful Tom Lynch (hamstring) will be available for the start of the finals as well.

"Our guys have been really positive with Tom. His scan came back on the minor side and he's running now and doing some strength training," the two-time premiership coach Damien Hardwick said.

"It's our understanding he'll be available for the first week of the finals at this stage which is a positive, but what we will say though is he's really important to us, so we'll make sure he's right to go. You get one chance at getting it right, so we won't rush it."

Key forward Tom Lynch is more likely to tackle the Lions in a game that will come three weeks after he suffered a hamstring injury against Geelong in round 17.

"From the outset we said we thought 'Lynchy' would have enough time to overcome that minor hammy to be in," Neil Balme said.

"But having said that, even (coach) Damien (Hardwick) said, 'You only get one chance with that', so we'll be conservative with the way we judge it but I'm still reasonably confident he'll get up for this game (Lions)."

He'll play - bank it. I can't wait to see Knobbo Robbo shaking like a leaf when he see's him run at him either.

Lynch didn't train with the main group today. He trained earlier.

Tomorrow D-Day to see if he trains with the group according to Tom Browne.
