Richmond star Tom Lynch sends injury scare through camp ahead of semi final with St KildaThe West Australian

Controversial Tigers forward Tom Lynch has sent a scare through the Richmond camp just days out from their semi-final with St Kilda.
The big man was spotted by 7NEWS cameras getting scans on an existing finger injury on Tuesday, but is confident he’ll be fit for Friday’s match.
“It’s an old injury and we’ll potentially do something at the end of the year,” Lynch said when quizzed about the scan results.
Lynch underwent surgery on his broken finger at the start of July and was forced onto a charter flight to Queensland just hours after the operation to beat Victoria’s strict COVID border crackdown.
“I had to obviously (act) fast and then go into surgery (the same day as scans),” Lynch said at the time.
“I ended up getting out of hospital about 4pm, 4.30pm, and then going straight home, getting my bag and then straight to airport and flying out.
“It was a pretty quick turnaround but I got up here (to QLD) in time.”
Lynch remains crucial to Richmond’s premiership defence and missed last week’s 15-point loss to Brisbane with a hamstring strain.
It’s been a controversial season for the Tigers big man who has struggled to remain out of the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Since arriving in Queensland to join his teammates, Lynch has faced three striking charges – including one on Bomber Michael Hurley which was referred directly to the Tribunal, and was also fined for shoving Lion Alex Witherden’s head into the turf.
