I am pleased that he has resigned with us.
And he has a lot of development to go before casting him off in my opinion.
So now he has the chance to futher all that here with us.
And I would say he at the end will be a shinning light for us.
And we will wonder why we wanted to let him go.

I am resigned to the fact that he has resigned with the club and didn't resign from the club.

 :cheers

:clapping :clapping :clapping. Finally some common sence has prevailed at the club, this is what I have been talking about all along, now you lot get off the freaking trade wagon regarding these kids. It is quite obvious Hardwick see's potential in this kid as I do, so some players are NOT tradeable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree 110% Bushy.  Way to early to be making calls on his career - I reckon he is a perfect fit for Harwick's style.  With all this talk of trading value to get value we musn't make the mistake of throwing the baby out with the bath water.  Lot's more talent in our list than most are giving credit for at the moment.  Let's clean out the obvious and then see what 2010 brings.

Rance was good before his head injury.

I am think it is too early call him a 'average footballer'.

Yer, lets wait a couple of years and then call him average. As i said, i like the guy but i would like a star mid better. He is a 'tryer' at the very best.

Not on the net but from Hutchy's column in the Sunday Herald-Sun...

WANTED TIGER

AN AGGRESSIVE bid from Hawthorn to lure Alex Rance has failed.

Rance late this week signed a new contract with the Tigers.

The 193cm midfielder backman had been one of several defensive targets for the Hawks, who are believed to have met the youngster last week.

The appointment of the hard-nosed Hardwick made re-signing Rance a far easier prospect.

Same old Richmond, had the chance to make a tough call but failed again. It's easier just to sit on our hands so we don't make any mistakes than put our balls on the line and try and make a difference.
Lets just keep the same players that did us so well this year!  :banghead

can a judgement be made on an 18-19 year old after 2 years in the AFL system?
Surely the next 2-3 years will tell the tale with him.One should expect significant improvement in that time.
I know he has areas of his game that are deficient but we must allow for maturity and development here

Our club is in the poo it is in because we continually look for the "wonder trade" that will deliver us salvation. Time to focus on drafting and player development rather than trading.

so some players are NOT tradeable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The argument is not about whether players are tradeable or not tradeable

It is about the club making sure it investigates all options available to it and that inlcudes kids that have only been there 2. 3  or 4 years. If the Dawks offered Franklin or Hodge for Rance are you still saying the kid is a "NOT tradeable"? As I said the club has a responsibility oto investigate all options

Whether we as supporters like it or not there are probably only 2 maybe 4 players on our list that would come under the NOT radeable category
