A deal is a deal, they reneged.

Did you expect the $75 to remain the same until you die?

There is still a guarantee this year but you'll pay more for it.
I expected it to go up like everything.
Plus it was a good earner for the club, I don't understand really.
In a few years as it increases, it would have been quite an asset.
But it meant that the ordinary supporter could afford it - not everyone is rich, and with partner and kids, it's just about nearly impossible for most these days.
Good luck to you lucky people but remember those that have given a lifetime of support and get treated this way.
Watching on tellie doesn't worry me at all and I might pick up a GF ticket through friends or work. Take my chances on that and would be disappointed to miss out, but I'm not going to get screwed with promises and have them taken away when it suits them.

How many people were on this program anyways?

I thought it was throwing away money so never went near it.
At least now we have some decent footballers and coach we have a slight chance hence I got my social club membership this year.
Couldn't say that in the Wallet years.

What does the social club membership cost?

I was on the program but I then upgraded to a Social Club membership so I cut the GFTG as I had a guranteed GFT due to my Social Club access.

When I signed up last year for the Social Club Membership was told there would be a guaranteed price freeze of $179 per season until 2014. Would that be the time that our premiership window will be wide open in 2015?
I am just wondering how much it will cost in 2015?

I can understand why some are peeved and I for one am not one who will sell his house and leave his wife and child on the street for a GFT in future but like all here I have invested enough of my energies thoughts time passion and effort and what not to the RFC and dreaming of their success and I know those tix will be so rare if we make it to the big one I am not prepared to miss out over the course of a few hundred bucks paid of over 12 months on Rolling Tiger membership but hey that's just me. When we win that release on the siren from all the yellow and black faithful will be a timeless unforgettable moment akin to man walking on the moon and I do not want to miss it.

There's nothing to stop them doing the same to social club members in the future.

Correct.

You were guaranteed a G.F ticket the year you paid your $75.

Things change.

I was guaranteed first right of renewal each year - nothing about "if it's available".  It doesn't matter how much you sugar-coat it - the club has done the wrong thing by those that took up this option over the past 3 years.  From their 2010 Membership Brochure:

"GFTG must be purchased in conjunction with a 2010 match-access membership. There are limited numbers available. Once you upgrade to the Grand Final Ticket Guarantee you will have the first right to renew this option each season. Members with guaranteed access to purchase an AFL Grand Final ticket must follow the AFL ticketing process in order to obtain their ticket. Social Club members do not need to purchase the GFTG as guaranteed access to a Grand Final ticket is included in their package. "

Nothing about "IF we offer the option".  No, that would have seen a significantly reduced number of take-ups on the option.  Low behavior that has (in my eyes) completely undermined their credibility with the FTF.  No donation from me - I have just donated > $200 over the past 3 years apparently.  And I'm not interested in the reimbursement that was offered to a poster on BF by RFCO.  I want the club to honour it's word, otherwise what can we trust from them?

You can't trust them because they only have a limited amount of tickets.
If they get more sponsors, the sponsors will get them before a social club member
It'll be exactly the same as the guaranteed Grand Final ticket in a few years, there simply won't be enough to go around and those who miss out will be posting in this thread as well.
Better to get out and let them fight it out, I've had enough!

They've changed a few things this year with membership = coteries in particular  :P (BTW RIP what was Player Club :'()

So I actually do understand why people are peeved and I don't blame them

The club has a made a huge mistake here more so in how they gone about it and I am not sure they can undo the damage this removal of the GFTG will/has caused

I joined Ton Up in 1990 because they guaranteed you a series ticket to all finals at the G including the GF.
About three years later it was removed because there werne't enough tickets to go around.
How many social club members are there?
I'm not just being bitter and twisted, but I doubt there'll be enough to go around.

I thought the whole this was a rip off anyway.
I'd rather put aside the $75-100 bucks each year and just buy one of the $1000 corporate tickets when they become available as they always do, they're even advertised on the footy show.

The ongoing option - by statement or implication it doesn't matter MM.  The club is in the early stages of a massive fund raising campaign that in essence is asking us to trust their message of hope with our dollars.  That trust has been proven to be misplaced with the GFG - what's next?  Clutch at all the straws you want - they have behaved unethically, badly, by deliberately (it appears to me now) misleading us for dollars.  Thought I was old enough to spot a con - just didn't want to believe my own club would pull it.

Do you not have the option of a GF guarantee this year?

Yes, but it was meant to be ongoing

What? The price or the option?
Far as I can see you still have the option FNM.
