Considering everything he has done for us and the club I don't think any of us have a right to judge him on any decision he makes in the future. Any decision he makes should be in the best interest of his own personal well-being in my point of view. He has clearly earned that right........ So we just need to respect any decision that comes.

Love him to stay

Dusty has done his job and more for us, probably the wisest move for all would be to go and we get something for the future in return

My gut feel has been for quite sometime now that he will retire

If he decides to play on somewhere else I'll admit I'd be extremely disappointed but that decision is his right. I dont have to like but II'd accept it. He's earnt the right to do what he wants.

Yeah Il be mighty peeed off seeing him in another jumper, but the joy he brought during those years more than covers any personal problem with it.

I'd be more annoyed he isn't invested now cause he knows he is leaving. That poo annoys me and I feel it's happening with a few different people at the club right now.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Doug Hawkins isn’t thought of any less by dogs faithful for a year or two at Fitzroy

Carey at Adelaide

Etc etc

There has been many over time .. if we get a decent asset in return, I’m more than happy for him to go
We won’t be contending again while he’s playing

THE COMPENSATION PICKS TIGERS CAN EXPECT IF MARTIN LEAVES IN FREE AGENCY

By Lachlan Geleit
SEN
6 July 2024

Another unrestricted free agent that’s been linked to a move is Richmond’s Dustin Martin.

Twomey was asked whether the Tigers, who sit 17th, could also get an early first-round compensation pick if Martin was offered a similar deal in terms of money from Gold Coast.

“I don't think it'd be getting more than maybe an end of second-round pick,” Twomey said.

“Age is a big factor in the formula and he will be 33 at the end of the year.

“I don't think that would generate too much of an early selection for in that case.

“But either way, I don't think the money is going to be at that level (at $800,000 + a year) if he does move.”

The AFL free agent compensation formula is decided on a points value assigned to the leaving player based on their guaranteed contract value and their age.

I'd be surprised if any club with brains offered him more than $1.5 for 2 years personally.

Just my 2c.

"Damien, I reckon the more mature answer would've been no, Dustin Martin's a champion, possibly Richmond's greatest ever player – but he's not part of our future."

Tired of hearing about it.
