18. Collingwood - Thomas Clurey (KPD, Height: 193cm; Weight: 85kg; Club: Murray Bushrangers)

tigs2011 write-up:
Clurey IMO is the best of a good group of KPD (not including Plowman who I’d have as a 3rd tall def/mid). Whilst I think Smith is probably a better shut down defender, Clurey is a better rebounder and more all-around KPD. In that sense he’s probably more you’re the type of guy to take the 2nd forward who he can run off a bit more. He probably won’t go first round but I like him a lot.
Knightmare's on BF:
Clurey has a solid shutdown game but what has stood out in his play has been his rebounding game and ball use. Showed plenty during the u18 champs and throughout the season. Uses the ball well coming out of the back half and has excellent footskills for a key defender. Strong overhead. Reads it well and can get off his man to take the intercept mark. Endurance elite and tested superbly at the draft combine.

19. Collingwood - Taylor Garner (Forward, Height: 186cm, Weight: 77kg, Club: Dandenong Stingrays)

tigs2011's write-up:
Garner is one I wasn’t overly impressed with in the televised games. At this stage he seems very patchy, which admittedly can happen with his type of player. Struggles to always get involved in the game and hasn’t really put together 4 quarters. As a medium forward I really want to see him hit the scoreboard harder as I do believe he has the talent to do so. He also has some ball-winning ability and I’d like to see him play more midfield minutes to boost his draft chances if I was going to take him this high. Could go as high as Richmond at pick 9.
Knightmare's:
Garner is an interesting player who can play forward or through the midfield to a high level. Up forward looks dangerous and is a strong marking target. 1v1 marking ability good and has some ability in the air. Has a great leap on him and can take a hanger. Tackling ability good. When he steps up into the midfield can win his own ball and is a very strong contested ball winner which is great to see considering he isn’t yet super strongly built. I do have some concerns over the consistency of his ball use and have found he isn’t always clean at ground level which is a concern for a forward, additionally decision making on a number of occasions throughout the u18 championships let him down and didn’t always find the right target, but there is a fair bit to work with none the less and the improvement from seemingly nowhere is very encouraging and I suggest there is more to come.
