Just to nerd it up again, I think the new lot of Nvidia cards (Maxwell) are just around the corner. I think the mobile versions (840m?) are already on spec sheets of some laptops coming out shortly and tech sites reporting a feb-march release of the 880. But as some tech forums are saying will probably be on the 28nm die still so will have to wait until 2nd half of 2014 for the 20nm die. I'm still rocking GTX680 since the performance upgrade to a 780 was negligible, but I'm rolling with an i5-2500k which is Sandy and finally falling behind with the Haswells. Hard to determine if it's worth upgrading this year since PC gaming will stall for a good 1-2 years with the new consoles out and by the time the 20nm Maxwells are out it will probably be only 6-10 months from the 9xx.

PC gaming in 4K. Bit hard to tell when the screenshots are just shy of 1080p lol. Looks no different from what my PC can do.

South Park: The Stick of Truth looks unreal. Was waiting for the price to drop on Steam but I don't think I can wait now. A modder has already done a patch to uncensor the nanny Aussie version  :thumbsup

We have a bit of an xbox contingent here, anyone checked out this yet?

I decided I can't be arsed buying an Xbox One yet so been playing on PC, the sheer lack of PS4 releases now and soon has me bummed. Seems like just CoD with mechs but it's slowly growing in me. Does alright after another Richmond fail.

http://m.au.ign.com/articles/2014/05/06/destiny-is-a-500-million-gamble-for-activision-says-kotick

Bungie's (developer of the Halo series) latest shooter in development could be the most expensive game ever made yet. It could end up costing $500million in both development and promotion, even more than GTA V, making it yet another video game costing more to produce and market than any Hollywood film. Big risk though as Destiny is a new IP compared to a known one like Rockstar's GTA series. Hard to imagine anyone other than gamers will take notice of the Bungie involvement so this game will have to be able to stand on its own. From what I have seen I think it will be a ripper, looks like Borderlands 2 style play of gunning and looting but with some really great RPG elements.

No surprise more and more big name actors are getting involved in gaming with most recently Kevin Spacey looking like he is to play the bad guy in the trailer of the next Call of Duty, Advanced Warfare. Martin Sheen playing the Illusive Man in Mass Effect 2 and 3 one of my favourites so far.

Just watched a leaked trailer for Battlefield Hardline and it looks awesome. Finally a decent Cops v Bad Guys FPS. So many modes of play. Can't wait to get it and have a crack at all the gadgets.

Don't want to sound like 'that guy' but a bit skeptical at the moment. Last year Dice had a dig at Activision saying Battlefield won't be an annual thing. It seems like EA are wanting to cash in on and muscle into Payday territory especially since the success of Payday 2. I'll give it fair go regardless of things like who is publishing it unlike some of my hardcore gaming brethren,  but after the shamozzle that was the BF4 launch it will be in EA's best interest to actually let Dice finish the game this time.

E3 around the corner. Can't wait for some juicy announcements ;D

Thoughts on Watch Dogs. Little bit of a let down are my thoughts. Still okay to play but not worth the hype

My thoughts exactly mate. They delayed it for 8 months and it is hardly polished. I've had several bugged missions I have had to restart, there are heaps of minor non-game breaking bugs, multiplayer is completely unbalanced in favor of the defender and it's ridiculous that it is 900p on new consoles. Seems like the delay was to put in the pee weak free roam after the success of GTA online. I think it is a good start for a new IP and the story is really good even if it is a rip from Persons of Interest but definitely a let down. A big issue at the moment is these games also coming to old consoles meaning the final product is gimped. Also the development team is split as most of platforms are on different architecture though xbone and ps4 are more similiar than what the ps3 and 360 were. I was really hanging for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor but worried about them being gimped too now.

Can't wait for Destiny though. 2014 is shapung up to be a crap year for games but 2015 is looking a ripper with Witcher 3 and The Division. There are obviously the annual sports games still to come. Seriously giving FIFA15 a miss for the first time in years. At least at launch anyway. Really keen for NHL 15 especially now that it is on the Ignite engine and I want to give it a solid work out. Most of my wog mates play FIFA though so will still get it at some stage I guess though.

Free roam doesn't feel as "free" as GTA. Lacks punching random people, the driving is crap and I don't know what it is but the map just doesn't feel as open? Not sure how to explain what I mean. Luckily I haven't encountered any bugs but read about a few which led to this....

Haven't finished it yet but the story has been pretty good so far and the hacking parts are pretty fun. Can't wait for Destiny, always loved the Halo's and they always made me end up getting the new Xbox consoles. Hopefully Destiny fills the void  ;D.
Don't think I'll get any of the annual sport games. Originally I liked EA's version of basketball but that turned to ass, I'm still happy with 2k12 because it takes me to long to get my players any decent  :lol and I have FIFA 14 and I only get them every other year as they don't change too much.
