Hands of aluminium foil, the only player in the AFL who claps his hands and marks at the same time.

A second round pick for Hampson looks like a terrible decision early in the piece. If we really wanted Hampson why not keep the Big O for another year on a rookie contract and woo Hampson over the course of the year to get him as a free agent end of 2014. Big O gives you nothing up forward but neither does Hampson.

They are obviously going to play 2 rucks plus Vickery. I think we are trying to copy Hawthorn and the David Hale thing. The problem with Hampson is you can't really play him as a 2nd ruck because he is so useless up forward.
And let's be brutally honest with ourselves here- Maric doesn't give you much as a forward either. Vickery is still the only one that can give you something.

Agree with the earlier post that this trade could be Jordie-esque, it's a shocker, and with our two favourite whipping boys McGuane and White gone, I really do hope Sampson strikes some early form for the tiges or it could get ugly in here!

well its a flip of the coin isn't it.It could be jordy esque or it could simply be another Hartley inspiration from left field

Honestly can't believe I'm reading this crap. I've got a little more faith in the club at the moment. Could someone please point to a poor move (trade wise or draft wise) Richmond have made in the last 3-4 years???.....

Get over yourselves. I'm not over the moon about this, but NO ONE has put things into perspective ie mentioning anything about the capping of interchange and that rucking will likely be a whole new ballgame. I tell you this, I rate Richmonds list management a hell of a lot more than most of the floggish comments re: Hampson saga.

Is it?
How many of our 2nd and 3rd round picks over the last 3-4 years are playing regular senior footy?

most 2nd and 3rd round draft picks generally are disappointing.

worth no where near what most think they are.

Probably the only mistake was Griffiths over Fyfe.....
If you're expecting RFC to be picking 3-4 starters out of each draft every year you've lost it. The following players from the last 4 years were taken as 2nd Rounders or more
Grimes (rookie draft), Dea, Batchelor, Griffiths, Mcbean, McDonough, Elton, Arnot.

All played senior games. All likely to have another season at the tigers. Can't really see a mistake there

Some people just look for the negatives, what was that saying? "Put 'em in a dark room and they'd develop"
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

No I'm not, I understand it is a bit of a lottery by this stage, what I am saying is that our number is due come up. We are due to unearth a gem in the middle of the draft. I spew looking at Goldstein from the late 30's or Jack Steven at 43 or so, it's our turn to get one  :banghead :banghead!

point is simply this we gave away a perfectly decent pick to get a bloke who has shown absolutely nothing and who is constantly injured every year. its a crap trade and Richmond FC should hang their heads in shame if this is the best they can do.

Not true people were generally happy to get Chapman and Houli. Grigg was a 50/50 cause Collins was showing something

This is just pure filth whichever way you look at it

on what basis is a pick that gets long term players about 30% of the time, a perfectly decent pick?
