We could have a $Billion in the bank but only 1% left in our cap when player X demands a massive front-ended contract or he's not going to sign!  Its the new way of saying 'I wont play for you'!

Spot on JPT but you open yourself up to arguments that we are paying overs for list cloggers taking up our space in the cap as well no one seeing us as a desirable destination.

Yeah, I know.  Like the sunrise these things are ... well ... inevitable.  As for players who don't see us as a desirable destination, I see that as a bullet dodged!  Why they want out of their current club & their AFL contract but don't want to play for a big Melbourne based club instead says plenty about their attitude & priorities too.
List cloggers?  That term is just some more desperately teenage buzz-word jingoistic rubbish coined by an American idiot who knows nothing about AFL!

List blockers is a term that comes about in a sport that is subject to drafts, salary and a system that is set up to try and make teams be successful then unsuccessful in a cyclical cycle

In such a system it is undesirable to hve a low talent, low potential player as the window will close. Unless you get a player o the calibre   Of dangerfield

It is a very fair ad reasonable term

Not dissimilar from "deadwood"

desperately teenage buzz-word jingoistic rubbish... Yeah na

Look at our list. It's not  a myth

A war chest means we have room in the salary cap automatically. That's a given.

Use the term deadwood then!
Did you see Dangerfield miss two shots at goal from 20mtrs out?
Tex Walker missed one from the corner of the goal square!
Is there a term for that?
