Thank you.

Thanks

And some of those numbers are scary especially 2008 & 2009, that is total drafted -v- the numbers left on lists.. staggering

Your club's draft needs and the young players it should chase

RICHMOND

The Tigers have kept their first round selections recently and have used them well to recruit the likes of Dustin Martin, Reece Conca, Brandon Ellis, Nick Vlastuin, Ben Lennon and Corey Ellis, but if they want to get serious this trade period and actually land a big player, their best pick just might have to go on the table. The Tigers, who were unable to pull off trades for preferred targets David Armitage and Jack Trengove last year, are eying Adam Treloar, Chris Yarran and Steven Motlop, and may need to dangle a carrot in the form of their first draft pick in order to stock up their areas of deficiency – speed, skill off half-back and potentially a small forward – with an experienced player.

First selection: Pick 13-15

Cal Twomey says: Richmond's list is in pretty good shape, evidenced by its strong season. The Tigers have been linked to a number of out-of-contract players, but if they keep their first pick, a hard and tough ball-winner like Josh Dunkley might be in their mix if he chooses not to head to the Sydney Swans as a father-son. He's spending a lot of time at the club and has played with its VFL team in the second half of the season.

Brett Anderson twitter:

"Those who doubted that this year's draft is extremely shallow should now be convinced after the #TACCupGF. Its been like that all year.

Drops away after 25. Top 5-6 are a gap ahead of 7-25 too.

Just not as many at top end as other years.

We'll know in 12 years [how it compares to the weak 2003 draft]. Hard to compare to past drafts. From memory though, 2003 was considered at the time to be a weak year too."

Dunkley was interviewed tonight on Ch10, it doesn't sound as though he's to keen to go to the Swans. Said he'd see how much interest there is from Vic clubs.

Dunkley, of course, trained at Tigerland this year.

With potentially the worst draft ever coming and our failure to lurer anyone of any great note, other than maybe Yarran (who I'm actually really happy about getting) how do we make ground on the clubs in front of us?
We cannot even win a final??
Geelong will definitely pass us....
It won't be long before the new clubs pass us with shear wait of numbers with their early picks....

How can we turn this around?

Geelong are going to need more decent picks if they are to get Henderson, Danger, Smith and Selwood. Why don't we offer them our pick 12 for Cookatoo? How many mids do they need? He will most likely play 2's most of the year unless they get a heap of injuries.... And I rate this kid from what I've seen this year. Will be a star, only wish it was in a a Tigers jumper.

These are the sort of things I hope our A Team are trying to achieve this week coming.
Also hope they are trying to move on a couple of ours- Astbury, Conca

I'd love us to use our pick 12 on Ah Chee, but we seldom pick these types. He can be the small forward we need with X factor. If we need more inside / outside mids, Clayton Oliver looks the goods. We really need to keep 12 because although the draft does look weak after pick 25, the first dozen or so are just as good as last years mob.

i think we need to pick the best available ruck. We won't trade for one so may as well develop one.

The best available ruck in this draft is still not going to make a difference for a few years. I wouldn't use pick 12 for that. I would use the very next available pick on one though! :thumbsup

If we still have high enough picks I hope we get Ben Crocker and/or Daniel Rioli.....
