Um we have Lloyd and Rioli why do we need a third small forward?
What so we can play him for a few games impress the other clubs and use him as trade bait next year for a tall half back? Other than that there seems little point.

why does he have to be a small forward?

Think both Rioli and Bolton once they develop (read put on some more beef) will be able to rotate through the mid field.

Won't be limited to just playing as small forwards

At this pick you select the best player available. If it ends up being an upgrade on Lloyd, all the better.

Because small mids like Edwards get pushed off the ball, thats why nearly all mids are 6 foot these days or solid types.  There's a couple of small mids going round in the bulldogs but there are more Chris Judd types than Tony Liberatore's by a mile these days.

You thought those stints rioli had on the wing were a waste of time?

the attriubes reported about the kid suggest he can play and do damage at any line on the ground.

there are more tricks to winning the ball and avoiding tackles than pure strength

I'm not sure about that,  even ruck rovers are 6 foot these days.  Jobe Watson is 190cm PatrickCripps 195cm.  I don't see a Dahlhaus tackling machine in Rioli but I stand to be corrected.
Maybe this guy is as tough as nails.  The bio says The 177cm small forward, who can also push onto the wing when required  so maybe he can be a running mid like
Lewis Jetta but even a guy like Jetta is 5'11''.

Wow I did not pick that, he is as light as a feather for a 6 footer.
