The narrative is about equalisation for all teams. Not just West Coast. It means that pampered teams such as Richmond over the past 4 years stop getting hand outs to the detriment of other sides.

It means Richmond goes and plays Geelong in Geelong, the most difficult away game in the league by far.

It means Richmond do not get a nice soft fixture leading into finals travelling once in two months while other contenders travel multiple times.

Not hard to comprehend if you open both eyes.

Richmond get forced to play home games away from home? What in 2020 when everyone was forced to do that? Now that is just a dumb argument in itself.

Please explain all these advantages West Coast get over Vic teams. The only one I can think of is they don't share home ground advantage with multiple clubs, thats it. The AFL simply can't change that where as they can address a number of 'benefits' they gift the Tigers in fixturing. Something they actually finally did with the 2021 draw should it remain as published but not as far as they can. (Still no trip to Geelong or Tassie)

4 of the first 5 games were at the MCG then one at Marvel. Thats close to the first 3rd of the season btw.

Nice comfortable start whilst WA and SA clubs forced to hub with no covid in either state. Massive mental boost for some teams, massive dissadvantage to others.

Some side start the season off at home and get their confidence up, others forced to carry the travel load.......again.

Norm Smith's are pretty easy to get when your team makes the Grand Final a few times and you are undoubtedly the best player of that team. Sort of like Melbourne of yesteryear and Nathan Jones.

Plus none of the Richmond Grand Finals were close. Had Martin not played they still would have won. The best Norm Smith's are the ones where the player turns the tide for his team.

People still talk about the four blokes who won three Brownlows and they played in what was only a state league there's barely any footage of most of them, hardly any  of it's in colour. and Bobby Skilton, the one they probably still talk about the most only played in one final right at the end of his career....but yeah the only bloke to win three Norm Smiths playing in a national comp and whose entire career's been televised  in high definition with multiple cameras will be forgotten...

Yep we stopped 4 flags in a row for richmond we had a hand in it again just like we did to Melbourne in the 50s Brisbane in 2004 couldn’t make it 4 either could hawthorn in 2016 been beaten by Footscray in that semi final the 4 straight flags record remains to Collingwood.
I feel 2021 we will have a new premier not Collingwood but another team like Brisbane west coast Geelong or I’ll love to see stkilda win it.

If Richmond decide not to unfurl their flags Round One, please feel free to return the home game to Carlton. The whole reason they have this as their home game , again , is for that precise reason and goodwill due to Covid restrictions last year.

Money don't matter as it's a 50/50 split been that way a few years now. This season is a reason we really needed it as our home game due to 50% as Richmond is getting a higher allocation of tickets I read yesterday in a story from TheAge.

West Coast clearly had the toughest task. I mean, they had to play several games in a row away from home.

Greatest flag of all time? Weren’t Richmond the favourite at the star of the season? If you are the favourite, is it really that remarkable? Also, Richmond didn’t have to travel, as they were based in qld, and they played at a neutral venue. The Western Bulldogs premiership was more remarkable imo.
