Richmond fans nowhere to be seen between 1980 and 2016. Only there for the good times, will disappear again once their glory days are overI guess that’s where Essendon fans are different we always attend and stay members even when we’re pinned to the bottom ✈️🛫🚀
They changed the rules to make games better viewing with more goals. The way Richmond played over the past 4-5 years is not meant to be how the game should be playedThe game is meant to be open, free flowing with big marks. Richmonds style is hold, tackle and try and force a turnover then rush the ball forward like a rugby game
Richmond winning didn't concern me. Their supporters are battlers and I don't begrudge them having some joy in their lives.It was their style of play. The suffocation of the traditional and core skills of AFL footy that made them unwatchable.The only thing that made them even remotely watchable was Dustin Martin.
Richmond's game plan is to flood back, not really attempt to contest in the forward line or midfield, just slow play down and set up their defense. Then cause a turnover and surge forward with chaos ball movement as fast as possible.That isn't how football traditionally was played. Traditionally it was man on man. Mids v mids and forwards v backs. No flooding, no zones and no chaos ball movement.Man on man. Tall v tall. Small v small.

Next 3 rounds for @Richmond_FC are at the MCG protected much.... no not at all. God for bit if they should travel out side of Melbourne @AFL
If every @AFL team was as protected as @Richmond_FC not travelling anywhere, everyone would win, I think all remaining rounds for @Richmond_FC are at home at the MCG

This is the eighth time Collingwood has played West Coast since 2018. In same time Richmond has played the Eagles just three times.
And in that time, Richmond played WC in Perth only ONCE. Incredible, inexplicable fixturing.
Wrong. WC have played Richmond at the MCG twice in that timeframe. What’s interesting is that Richmond got absolutely belted on the one occasion they travelled and played the Eagles in Perth in the past 3 years.
Actually you’re correct, my bad. Begs the question: why have the two most recent premiers played each other so few times?Unlike Richmond with Perth games, WC want as many MCG games as possible. Richmond have a knack of avoiding interstate travel. It’s uncanny.

At the other most recent premiership winner’s home ground once a season?Like they were fixtured to last year, but bitched out on by lobbying the AFL to move the game to QLD, resulting in a probable 8 premiership point swing that effectively secured top 4 for them.
