He can’t get any separation because he is slower than a wet week.

He was great in the Cats prelim in 2019, besides that he’s been just ok if we are being honest.

I’ve been onto Lynch for a while now. Was playing better on one leg in 2019. Should be dominating. Just wonder if the BS he was put through last year by the media nazis has had a lasting effect on him?

I’m not worried. Our fwd50 entries are disgraceful, even worse than usual. Imagine if we just hit targets or atleast kicked to advantage most of the time !
Slow start to the year from lynch but I’ll tip him to get into form.
On the upside jack is looking fantastic !! Thought he was on the decline after last year but he’s looking close to his best.

That’s because Jack has a footy brain and knows when and where to lead. Unfortunately he’s no spring chicken like Alir Alir but I thought he did well despite the clear differences in aerobic capacity and speed.

Lynch on the other hand just doesn’t lead enough for his talent and size which is absolutely essential with the speed of ball movement now. True we need to deliver better inside forward 50 too.
The club that keeps giving.

He looks very low on self confidence. Hardly competitive.

Not a single mark taken on the lead last night by the entire team - Port took six... :shh

Matthew Lloyd believes Tom Lynch needs to play on the edge again to motivate the Tigers.

When things aren't working it's best to return to focusing on doing the basics right. As others have said, Lynch needs to play in front (a better chance of getting a free also), hold onto marks he should be holding onto to, and kick straight for goal (an ordinary 7.8 so far this year).

And we need to hit up our forwards to in our forward 50 entry look up before we just bomb it in.

Matthew Lloyd critical of Tom Lynch who is "not going that well" (SEN)

LLOYD CRITICAL OF RICHMOND FORWARD WHO IS “NOT GOING THAT WELL”

By Andrew Slevison
SEN
27 April 2021

Matthew Lloyd has again thrown heat at Richmond’s Tom Lynch.

The Essendon champion provided a withering assessment of the forward in his first year with the Tigers in 2019, labelling him a “liability”, before Lynch went on to kick 63 goals in a premiership year.

In the wake of Saturday night’s 34-point defeat at the hands of Melbourne, Lynch was again the subject of discussion after he was kept goalless.

Coincidentally, Lloyd’s previous criticism of Lynch came after a down performance in the side’s heavy Round 7 loss to the Western Bulldogs almost two years ago.

The Tigers face the Dogs in Round 7 this Friday night at the MCG.

“‘Lynchy’ would want to improve,” Lloyd said on Sportsday.

“Not going that well.”

Prompting Gerard Healy to ask: “Is it ball movement or is it congestion?”

Lloyd replied: “I know I’ve got in trouble before.

“I think he still doesn’t move as well as he could so he’s got to be that aggressive with his body work to put his man off the line of the ball because he doesn’t get back on the ball like some other forwards would.”

Healy joked: “So the Tigers are certainties on the weekend because Lloydy’s cooked Lynch again?”

Sam McClure chimed in, suggesting that the 28-year-old could perhaps be carrying some sort of injury issue which has somewhat restricted his output to 10 goals in six games and just eight marks in the past three weeks.

“It looks to me like he’s carrying something, to be honest,” he said.

“I’m not giving him any excuse because you go out there, you’re fair game, but to me it looks like he’s hampered by something.”
