Dunno if it's actually anything, but towards the end of training Lynchy seemed frustrated with his quad and left the ground 5 or so minutes early. Mansell then gave an interview and wasn't too confident about Lynch being ready for Rd 1.

If he's injured, I'll be shattered for him

Interesting,  didn't notice it myself. A few came off early

And the captain didn't train on filed at all

Lynch set to return in Round 1 blockbuster

Tom Lynch will make a popular return from injury when Richmond and Carlton play their traditional round 1 blockbuster at the MCG.

Tigers coach Adem Yze confirmed Lynch - their key forward "godfather" - has recovered from his pre-season concussion and will play in Thursday night's clash.

"It's a great magnet to have. To be fair, the players around him really need him - we have a really young forward-line group," Yze said of Lynch's return.

"To have the 'godfather' down here, to help out, he sits in our meetings (and) he's obviously such a great leader.

"He'll have his young minions around him ... and the big fella will give us a contest."

Lynch has played only eight games in the past two seasons because of injuries.

The Match Review Officer has completed their review of Thursday night’s Round 1 match.

Tom Lynch has been charged with rough conduct striking Carlton’s Tom De Koning during the second quarter of the Round 1 match against Carlton.The incident has been graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Lynch can accept a one match ban.
