I don't get this "cant play Jack, Tom and Balta in the same forward line" discussion

Sure if you had three big slow guys like say Hampson, Soldo and Nankervis it wont work.

But Jack has shown he is one of the smartest footballer around and although not fast he has the ability to be part of a forward press. Already proven. Lynch is very mobile for a big guy and Balta has the speed and also the ground game of a smaller guy. We would not lose anything by having Balta in place of a smaller guy - provided Balta has learnt the game plan completely.

I agree with that. Jack at CHF. Tom at FF. Balta roaming 3rd tall. Would be a handful.

Gracie definitely agree. We've seen jack run up the wing and also be an extra tall down back. Jack is an absolute jet and will be able to use his knack Taking a contested mark all over the ground.

Thought Hardwick was big on versatilty thse days and  Balta can pretty much be played anywhere the match situstion dictates......back, forward guts, wing, ruck....:shh

Tend to agree with you guys we can play them all.Balta can play any position to if things not working out.Eagles do it playing one genuine ruck one second ruck forward and two monster forwards. This quote "Lloyd said resolving our 2nd tall forward/ruck is what stands between Richmond and another flag" spot on for me.

He’s been training to be a back up ruck, I suppose their view is that we need 1 full time ruck and 1 part time ruck.
I have no idea how this will play out on Thursday nite as I’d imagine if Lynch does play there is no way they will risk him at centre bounces.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

They talked about Dusty on last night's show. Lloyd said Dusty should spend 50% of the time up forward and hopefully playing closer to goal stimulates him.

Then they got onto the team overall and what were our deficiencies. Judd said our contested numbers and tackling are down. Caro added that our drop off began in the last 6 weeks of last season so it's not something new. Richmond were the best team in the comp. for 12 months and fortunately that reign occurred across September 2017. Collingwood and the Eagles are the premiership favourites now.

Caro is spot on our decline started the last 6 weeks of the season in 2018, but the thing is watching our games none of those problems have been rectified clearances, first hand on the footy, our pressure and tackling.Teams were clearly working us out yet we look like stuck on our 2017 game plan we don't counter it.This with another key forward coming into the club who we thought would give us another dimension and new rules.

Getting first hand on the ball is not so much of a tactic but skill or personel.

If Nanks struggles against a ruckman we don't get first hand on the ball.

Soldo may address this issue as he is able to get his hand on the ball or at least stop their ruckman from spoon feeding their midfielders.

Who noticed Hardwick on the bench last week barking orders and really working with the players as they came off the ground.

We are definitely working on something different and it didn't work last week, but that doesn't mean it wont click over the next few months.

Maybe it was a plan against Collingwood, in the first half we spent most of it trying to play a Pagans paddock style and get the "chaos" ball over the top

K.O. Slomo won't address any issue unless the "issues" are being too fast and taking too many contested marks... :shh

Diode I know that you hate Soldo with a passion so any of your assessments of him are extremely negative.

Agree to a point, but some of our midfielders being lazy also tackling and pressure and gut running are basics not negotiable if were sticking to our game plan Nank is the least of our problems.
