dun quite like the ruckliff pick. 

tho i'd be stoked if we got liam jones at pick 58.  I believe that website has some old info when it comes to height and weight.  liam jones i believe is now at least 194, and this has been confirmed by jason mccartney's article on tall forwards on afl website.  have been impressed with his athleticism and marking.  under age too.  there's a clip on bigpond and most likely youtube too

TAC Cup specialist Ben Anderson predicts the first round

1. Melbourne - Watts: key forward you can build a side around.

2. West Coast - Naitanui: Rich is safer but Nat could be anything and is a boom or bust pick.

3. Fremantle - Stephen Hill: Wildcard pick. Argument is Rich is much like Palmer so Freo will go for outside runner with silky skills to complement Palmer.

4. Port Adel - Rich: dilemma b/w Rich and Vickery. Go for the mid with kicking penetration which they lack.

5. Essendon - Hartlett: Yarran was favourite prior to trade week but they couldn't offload Lovett so the Bombers have changed their mind. Hurley will be tempting but Hartlett is best available mid.

6. Carlton - Hurley: need a strong bodied key defender.

7. Brisbane - Ziebell: toss up b/w Ziebell and Swift. Voss to go with a playing style similar to him.

8. Richmond - Vickery: The Tigers will be rapt should Port overlook Vickery at pick four. Troy Simmonds will be 30 this year and Adam Pattison hasn't quite made the grade yet so Vickery, who is best natural ruckman in the draft, is the ideal pick for Terry Wallace's exciting young side.

9. North - Johnston: need a goalkicking mid like Sidebottom but talk is strong they will take Johnston and look to play him at CHB.

10. Adelaide - Trengove: toss up b/w Trengove and McKernan. Go for best available Trengove who is rated top 5 by some.

11. Coll'wood - Swift: go for a mid - choice out of Swift, Sidebottom or Beams.

12. Sydney - Suban

13. St Kilda - Yarran

14. Bulldogs - Cordy (F/S)

15. Geelong - McKernan

16. Hawthorn - Davis

I'm certainly not usually one to spread the latest gossip, but having chatted with a bunch of Ziebell's mates only a couple of days ago, the lad has had a huge amount of interest from Richmond, with Carlton also very keen too. Not exactly ground breaking stuff, but I was kinda suprised that he'd feature so prominently on the Tigers radar. Not sure he'll last to them anyway, but there ya go.

i certainly hope emma has her sources right, she was pretty damn accurate with her mock draft last year.  I would love to pick up either hartlett or vickery (tho i would prefer hartlett, just by a little bit)... good to see that she reckons we'd get either hartlett or vickery, depending on who port picks

Tom Petroro from Strides Sports management on SEN tonight reckons this draft is up there with 2000/2001 for depth. Probably the top kids of 2006 were slightly better than this crop but the 2008 group is good and goes very deep.

He also believe Vickery will go top 5.

Emma Quayle has shown last year her info is usually on the money but even then I can't believe Rich would slip to pick 7  . If we knew that may happen back at around round 20 you would say tank the last few games to slip down the ladder a couple of places to grab him as Rich will be a gun. If Emma is right, Freo are idiots!

In any case Vickery heading to Tigerland would still make the club estatic  . Best available and needed type in the same package.

The Tigers need players that can kick the ball accurately, Hartlett would be a future leader in the midfield while Rockliff would be a dangerous player up forward. Richmond also need some more height and get a couple of project talls to work with too.

I wonder whether Tregrove will be considered now that he has been given the all clear from the doctors? Before he was injuried he was considered a top 5 pick but teams cooled on him after his injury. If he is taken in the Top 10 it should mix things up for us at the very least.

8. Tyrone Vickery (DOB – 31/5/90, Ht – 200, Wt – 89)
Richmond I think will be happy to sit back and pick up whoever drops. Their biggest need is probably in the ruck where they need to start planning for life after Simmonds. Similarly they could use a small forward with Deledio playing more in the midfield and Brown nearing the end. Some more class in the midfield would also be helpful although probably not an immediate need. Yarran I think would get a long look here assuming he is available but I have had them taking Vickery for some time and I am sure the Tigers would like to pick him up if they could.

26. Nick Heyne (DOB – 22/7/90, Ht – 187, Wt – 79)
If Richmond go tall in the first round I expect them to go small in the second. If it is the other way around I think Lisle might go off the board here if he is still available As it stands I think they might go looking for a longer term replacement for Nathan Brown. Jetta and Rockliff may be chances and Hall is another who could add some class to the forward flank options given time. In the end though I went with another guy who can play forward or through the midfield and has a little bit of that X factor that you have a lot in premiership teams. The Tigers are starting to build up their bank of classy players and I don’t think they would overlook their opportunity to build on that here.

58. Casey Sibosado (DOB – 13/10/90, Ht – 191, Wt – 85)
Richmond will take a key position or two in this draft and the best Div 2 prospect left out there is Sibosado who gets a fair bit of love on the draft board. He is an interesting prospect and one well worth looking at at this stage in the draft. He has quite a lot of talent and looks like he has the tools to develop into a nice player. The Tigers could use his athleticism especially with Richo coming to the end of his career.

I'd doubt we'd take another flanker as 26 and if Freo are keen on Stephen Hill they won't bypass him twice. If all the better mids are gone at 26 then we'd be better to go with another tall like a Lisle or Roughead if they were still around as Quigley has. We need a replacement for Polly as well as fill out existing gap in KPPs and rucks.
